Best instant coffee brand?
Need coffee this week to power through work, and my jar has ran out. Want an instant that doesn't taste like arse.
Indie points to those that only grind their beans under a June full moon or whatever and wouldn't drink instant if they were dying of thirst.

Gold blend is the least offensive in my opinion
Hmm that's what I have in my last jar.
Like, it's alright, but I'd love there to be something better.
there are those 'speciality' instants
like the new Crema (think from Nescafe) but it seems a bit like trying to polish a turd.
This Douwe Egberts Dark Roast Pure Indulgence I've got here on my desk is reasonably good.
Oh, you said best didn't you.
Sorry, don't know.
tcha!
nescafe azera is nice
but it's nescafe so you're worse than hitler if you buy it
again?
AGAIN!
jesus.......
Soz.
I know a massive coffee snob who can't fault the Starbucks microground stuff.
It comes in a little tin, looks like shoe polish. Apparently it's very good. Pricy though.
you don't know a massive coffee snob
i'll collect my indie points now, ta.
I wouldn't drink that fizzy piss lager if you paid me
Nescafe Cap Colombie is actually quite tasty.
Yep.
I always liked either that or CafeDirect, which is fairtrade too if you like that kind of thing.
Imma hijack this
Aeropress wankers: what coffee would you recommend? I just got one and I'm dazzled by choice.
go to your local coffee shop and get them to grind some of their beans for you
The only shop that did that near me closed down a while back :(
well just to to a supermarket and get whatever takes your fancy
Sainsburys are doing all their ground coffees for £2 a bag at the moment.
Yeah that's what I've been doing
I just wondered if there was some superawesome megacoffee everyone knew about that I was missing out on.
buy a little manual burr grinder. well worth it.
Taylors Hot Lava Java
I did eyeball a bag of this yesterday but it looked a bit intimidating
seconded
my go to coffee, so good, always get nice comments when i have friends over too
Then I shall have to give it a go
cheers
I just buy whatever.
I'm sure fresher is better and stuff, but it takes me a while to get through a bag. Do you prefer it fruity or nutty or whatever? I don't know.
Next time I visit Monmouth I might buy a bag, I always like their coffee.
I have no idea
I had some Lavezzi (sp?) espresso stuff which was good but a bit *much* and now I'm on some Taylor's Brazilian stuff which seems alright. I have no idea what I'm doing really.
Didn't realise times were tight at PSG.
Out of the newish microground stuff
I've only tried millicano, and I wouldn't say it is worth the cost difference.
When I need instant coffee, I just get a cheap one and add sugar.
sometimes i bring my aeropress in like a proper wanker
but i keep Nescafe Azera or their Espresso instant on hand for cheeky ones throughout the week
Nescafe Alta Rica
It's my fuel for life.
INSTANT COFFEE? MY LOCAL TAKEAWAY SELLS YOU A SMALL COLUMBIAN BOY WITH NIMBLE FINGERS WHO PRESSES THE BEANS USING ANCIENT TECHNIQUES FOR £2 CAN'T BEAT THAT VALUE #INSTANTPLEBS
I like Douwe Egberts
I only really drink coffee at work though and it's fancy lattes or filter coffee there, depending if the manager is in.
