Boots Meal Deals HELP
So how do they work then? Is it a sandwich and a snack and a drink, is that it? What are the good things to look out for? Any particular ways to squeeze extra value out of the deal? I'm in the mood for some lard but maybe also some fruit.

beware the triple sandwiches. they are very dry
BLT is a corker. The little bags of grapes and apple slices are awesome.
And then get like a tropicana because they're the most expensive so you're really getting value there.
God I hate me.
they make it pretty clear on the shelves
and yes, its a 3 item deal
but best value is usually a wrap.. a bag of malesters/other sweets and a bottle of lucozade or fruit juice type thing
malesters?
were they jimmy saviles favourite?
The aim of the game is to get the three most expensive items possible
Not sure it is still the case
But you used to be able to get large sushi, brownie and smoothie ... net value about a million pounds
indie points value at LEAST twice that
The whole deal should be designed around the green smoothie
It's the best thing by miles.
Sometimes they'll have like buy one get one free on Lucozades
And it still counts in the deal (used to, at least).
woah
wraps are the best
be very careful if you go for apples, grapes or carrots as the snack because sometimes they're still frozen and sometimes they're turned to mush. Also the ammount in each packet varies greatly.
Boots' own brand Belgian chocolate bar is a secret masterpiece.
Not really a massive diary fan
But those honey yogurt pots are divine.
dairy*
I had one of the Jamie wraps the other day, cheap crap.
boots own brand > jamie oliver
more like jamie craps
ooih lots of good info
I like wraps. I also quite like boots sushi, it's surprisingly ok. Right, I'll head off soonish to beat the rush and report back.
The Boots on Regent St had a broken chill cabinet for a while recently
This meant they had no Tropicana, no Innocent, no Naked smoothies. I was heartbroken, but it's fixed now thankfully.
I used to occasionally manage to get a Walkers Big Eat bag of crisps, not all Boots had them so you had to get lucky, but the one on Oxford St near HMV which I always used for this doesn't have them anymore.
I was amazed to hear yesterday that sausage rolls count as a snack, was thinking about that quite a lot.
i might actually go for a boots meal as opposed to sainsbury's today.
are the wraps that good? i hate how cold the bread is when i get them from sainsbury's.
Get one of those Naked fruit smoothies. Delicious, and worth £2.50 on their own.
i can 't believe they're part of the deal!
WIll definitely get one of those. And I know they have them in boots bond street. And they have monster munch crisps too! I'm quite excited.
and remember to report back on how much they're going for in your town
£3.69 iirc
you've been robbed pal
i could had an extra snack here and still only pay more or less that
psh
london's london.
yet another reason
why its britains worst city
exactly.
3.29
out in surrey
cant wait till i move jobs into central london next month and get access to a larger variety, boots here has half the options
Chicken and stuffing sandwich
DELICIOUS pulled pork and apple sandwich
pickled onion monster munch
and a naked gree smoohtie
3.79 in bond st, saving of 2.01
Hope it's not pure rubbish. Nearly killed me walking past the hot cheese and ham croissants in pret.
my sandwich was a bit cold in the middle
I wish I'd left it out for a bit before eating it. I'm also missing not having had anything hot because I like something hot. I might have a coffee (instant fomr kitchen, not purchased). But I'm still feeling overall pretty happy with what was a decent and cheap lunch and will try to do this for the next few weeks to save some money :)
I could have predicted this
Classic PO combo
I just went to Boots
On Oford Steet. Hardly any choice of anything good.
I just went to Co-op and get a better deal.
£3 for:
Drink (coca cola, Oasis, Innocent Smoothie)
Sandwich or salad or pasta (I had a gorgeous Greek Meze which consisted of taboloueh, feta cheese, houmous and falafel with foccacia sticks
Chocolate/crisps/fruit.
So worth it.
that sounds better than what the sainsburys round the corner from my lab does
It is really good
Especially the Greek thing. Its vegetarian, low in fat and really yummy.
And I've got my four out of my five a day from it
How did you get four?
You need a full bowl of salad to count as one, and juice only counts as one too.
innocent : 2
Melon and grape snack pack: 1
salad: 1
This could be a great alternative to the 'How Much Did Your Meal Deal Save?' game
I'm a big fan of the purple Innocent with blueberries and goji berries or something.
(2)
pomegranates, blueberries and acai one is great
^That's the one!
i've not been a massive fan since they broke the £3 barrier tbh. also they don't seem to have much good veggie stuff any more :/
shapers falafel and houmous wrap bores me to hell if i have it more than once in a month
naked smoothies: great
not really adventurous enough to try the salads and pastas cause whenever i've had them they've been bland.
mediterranean tuna wrap
i wound up going to sainsbury's today
where i got a taste the difference BLT as a part of the £3 lunch deal (even though the sandwich alone was £3).
ironically, i couldn't taste the difference, it was pretty much the same as the normal blt except it was cut horizontally, not diagonally (everyone knows diagonal sandwiches are the best)
