I always go to the weatherspoons on the way to the venue. Cheap and not bad.
I'm just a cheap ars who wants to get jolly before a gig.
I mean there's The Windmill and The Jamm
But you don't want to really jig about that much before a gig. You want to have a bit of settle before the storm and a good cheap pint.

or the Craft Beer Co is on your way, second right after you leave the station if you want independant stuff

Happy hour at satay bar (5 to 8 I think)
nice cocktails for a fiver (plus they don't skimp on the alcohol)

Queens Head on Stockwell Road (3 mins walk from the venue).
Walk down from Stockwell tube down Stockwell Road and it's on your right after the William Hill just before the skate park.
