Maybe if you knew what you wanted when you were 16 and put all your resources into working towards it - But who knows what they want at 16? Or 20? Or fucking ever?
Every reasonably sized business has a management accountancy function, so if you still wanted to do that you could do it in an industry you're more interested in (or you may just love logistics, idk). Alternatively you've got a lot of real experience in a well-renowned business so that if you did want to start a new career you'd look pretty good to prospective employers.
Explain the reporting elements of it rather than the actual accounting. It'd look really good if you wanted to go into practice, which would definitely be more project based. Your current experience would stand you in very good stead if you wanted to go into advisory or something like that, and you could probably get an ACA/ACCA training contract with a very good firm.
do it. when you're on your deathbed you won't regret trying something new
unless it was like eating radioactive pie
is that the job?
hahahahah
I want to do it too
I can't think of a single job that wouldn't end up being just shit though (fantasy jobs aside).
i enjoy my job quite a bit.
Ah, not one of you people
do a famntasy job then
I don't think I can just become an A&R man / rockstar / actor / whatever overnight
or basically ever.

AT LEAST TRY MOKER YOU WIMP!
*flexes guns*
i was mildly tickled by the idea of you just doing a different job within your company
like, turning up and pretending to be head of marketing or something.
(or something else if you are already head of marketing)
the site boss at Birmingham thought i was a systems specialist until recently
how funny is that?
hahahhahahahahahahhaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaagh
Still in management accounts?
Or a different sort of accounting? Or a different profession altogether?
dunno
my contract runs out at the end of march. i enjoy this job, like my workmates and that, but i'm 25 in may. might be time for a change?
Wait - You like your job but you're in Managment Accounts?
Ok, so you don't enjoy your job. It's bearable. Much like a punch the face is more bearable than a knife in the gut.
But you don't actually enjoy it, like you wouldn't actively enjoy a punch in the face.
The good thing about your role is it's easily transferable

do you think its transferrable? i've been told its hard to shake the image of being 'an accountant'
i think sometimes i'd like a role that is a bit more 'projecty'
As long as you describe your role well it'd be fine
