Noises in films that you like.
I like the noise that guns make in films. Not when they're being fired, but when they're just being moved about. A bit like someone taking a bite of apple under water.

Did you also watch Jurassic park and ghostbusters tonight?
I'm watching Tropic Thunder on iPlayer
I just generally like when someone taps the roof of a car so as to tell the driver to drive off
My uncle used to do that.
It's a bit annoying if you're not expecting it.
duct tape been ripped off
I like the light saber noise
Has to be the Wilhelm Scream

So much joy when I hear it.
The opposite of this
whenever I hear it I picture a smug, boring character patting themselves to celebrate their tedious unoriginal injoke.
jon barrowman
askin to eat a womans pussy
Can we have a thread for things you like seeing in movies, too?
Probs not.
But anyway, I like it how Brad Pitt always looks cool as fuck when he's eating and talking in films.
its th way he looks up while hes eating
when he's eating down the phone to Ed Norton in Fight Club
I think he was eating cornflakes.
the Balrog
from the fellowship of the ring

PEW PEW!
the predators sort of growl snarl spund
True story I read somewhere
the sound that The Grudge makes was done by scraping the teeth of a comb against a table, or something.

my sister used to scare me with it when i went up the stairs at night
velociraptors in jp
transforming transformers
seat belts
those kids laughing from the intro to diddy kong racing turns up in so many films, chilling
The weird noise in the Goldeneye soundtrack.
Don't know how to describe it.
I know what you're talking about
Sounds really.... Soviet!
Its the sound of a tambourine sample downpitched
Really?
Now I know how to describe it to people!
Audition
every noise in the last 10 minutes
Power laces in BTTF II
Also, a lot of the sound effects in TRON are pretty satisfying.
when a car gets a puncture
the initial sound of the puncture, then the air hissing out followed by the sound of the tyre blowout and then the sound of the car driving along with the puncture.
I like punch sounds as well. Never heard a real one sound like that.
Best film for this- Evil Dead 2.
Sound sound of a tie fighter in Star Wars
Obvs.
People talkin' in foren, like.
Simon Phoenix typing on that keyboard when looking up
Edgar Friendly in Demolition Man. That makes a good sound.
As do the police's cattle prod style batons.
In conclusion: murder death kill.

gun ricocheting
not a film, but I love the rocky crunch when bodies hit the deck in the old-school pink panther cartoons

In the same cartoon vein:

Especially the sound of falling.
The Killbot 2000 or whatever in the first Robocop
the walking and the settling down on its 'haunches'

but the screaming when it falls down the stairs. Also, why would a robot roar?
ED-209

the noise the doors in Star trek make
the pew pews in Star Wars, and Chewys "speech"
the noise transformers make when they slow motion jump
the noise the ghostbusters back packs make when the power up
Technically it's the score but
the prolonged note breaking the silence in The Dark Night anytime the Joker's about to do some cray shit.
Metallic cyclops thing in Thor
The noise of his ye laser beam thing. That was rad.

Also, any movie that features sound effects from the stock library they used in the Deus Ex computer game always makes me chuckle.
there's some stock sound from C&C Red Alert
that is in loads of films. I don't remember what but it triggers C&C Red Alert in me brain.
the wood spirits in Princess Mononoke
*makes clicky sounds, tilts head*
it's not specific
but when you're at the cinema, thuds and thumps sound really cool.
and this one is more specific
I watched 'Eraserhead' yesterday. The sound is a real highlight in that film. You can tell that as much effort was put into the audio as the visual side of things.
police sirens when you're getting pulled over
The Radiator in Eraserhead
There was a period of time when I was a teen
that I used to go out and get drunk / smoker weed then go back to my mates house and watch Eraserhead. I never really knew what it was, but it was always on when I was off my face. It kinda freaked me out and intrigued me equally.
I don't really remember much sound. Everything seemed to sound like when you're under water.
Or maybe that was the substance abuse.
A sword being taken out of it's sheath.
The sound of baggy sleeves when doing some martial arts poses before the fight starts. Nearly popped a shoulder attempting to replicate this when making a ham sandwich after watching Ip Man.
