A food thread for things not big enough for their own food threads
1) I know it's Valentines Day, but M&S has jacked up its two dine for £10 to £20! That's twice the price (thanks, maths!). You get a starter and some choccies with it, but still, not happy
2) Tyrell's are my new king of crisps
3) Has anyone tried the new Cadbury Dairy Milk with Oreos in? Fuck me, it's incredible.
4) Can you still get Apple Tango anywhere? I used to love that stuff
AOB?

I REALLY DISLIKE THE cadbury's oreo thing. it's too sweet.
last night i ate some tesco burgers. they were tasty.
Interesting, I'm usually quite attuned to things being overbearingly sweet these days,
but I loved this stuff.
I make my own burgers - had a bad experience with Tesco burgers (though it was entirely my fault, I burnt them).
Horse?
A shop marked something up for Valentines Day?
Can't see it catching on to be fair.
Well how long is this shit going to last?
Maybe the price will never come down? Then where will we be? Hmm?
Sounds like we'll have to soon start preparing and cooking meals from scratch using fresh ingredients for half the price.
What a world.
Pah.
Not in this kitchen, buddy.
*¼ of the price
hyperinflation
you know who ELSE had hyperinflation? HMMMMM?
until the 17th according to the adverts
i got some scallops for starters though, that'll be nice won't it
I had a fried egg for breakfast this morning and the yolk burst
still managed to salvage it but it just wasn't the same
=(
Anyway
Yes Dairy Milk with Oreos in is genuinely fantastic.
Apple Tango is widely available in Poundland. Not sure where else mind.
1) don't you get bubbly and a box of chops with that too?
Yeah, chocolates, didn't see bubbly though, just wine.
- tayto crisps are the best crisps
- I'd kill a man for white fudge flipz
- deep fried thin sliced onions to go on top of a biriyani at the weekend, pretty sure I'm going to do that for every single thing I cook for the rest of my life now
1) waitrose is also 2 for £20, but think M&S has the btter choice
2) seem to remember people round here hating tyrells, I quite like them. not as good as hendersons though <3
3) tried it ages ago.. its not new is it? bit like them chocolate egg & spoon things.. back, but not new!
4) yes, independant retailers seem to pretty good for this, like cherry 7up
what are peoples average weekly shopping bills, exluding alcohol?
tango sweets
Malteaser sized chocolate balls with orange centres and popping candy in them
Fucking dee-lish
re: 3 - FUCK YES
really enjoying leeks at the moment
Any sort of leek/cheese combo is magnificent.
on tuesday i made roasted leek and parmesan risotto
delicious
nice.
leeks are one of those things i think, when I eat them, 'these are really nice, i should eat them more often', but i never do.
Creamed leeks = startlingly good.
i think i've seen that film.
I liked the bit when they creamed the leeks.
Definitely my favourite bit.
i think Royter missed my comment yesterday, in which case i will re-post for his benefit.
i made some SAVOURY pancakes last on pancake day.
As i was out on Tuesday i had pancakes last night
Lancashire Pancakes with Lancashire cheese (that's the lancashire bit), soured cream, bacon and chives and baked in the oven. I won't lie, they were pretty fantastic.
Having lived next to Lancashire all my life
I have never heard of Lancashire pancakes
Nor had I (as a born a bred lancastian)
I assume it was my girlfriend getting lancashire cheese mixed up with lancashire [pause] cheese and bacon pancakes. They're well good anyway, and i will call them lancashire pancakes from now on.
Yep, Lancastian
real big on spinach at pres
make a spinach and feta pie
tyrell's are the fucking cunt smashers of crisps. they are so good.
haven't had creme brulee in a while. going to fix that.
Apple Tango's the best
Tango
i had a glass and a cup yesterday
and i put the orange juice in the cup and hot tea in the glass by mistake.
they should put me away.
I'm too much for this world
When I get back from my night shifst at 6.30am
I have on more than one occasion put apple juice in my tea/cereal :/
Gonna have a curry this evening for the first time in AGES
What's everyone's favourite curry? EH?
when someone steals some of your butter
but instead of taking it in a nice smooth stroke of the knife to spread on their toast they somehow leave it all gouged and pitted and stabbed and clawed at
what the fuck are they playing at
Dunno what you're moaning about H_Y_G
I picked up an M&S dine in that would've cost £38.40 for £20 (well £16 as I get discount). The choice was a lot better than the usual guff they chuck on the dine in (I got beef Wellington, £13, and a bottle of NZ Pinot Noir, £11).
