the is a good episode for every 3 mediocre ones, the one where Cartman becomes cupid in the latest series is one of the best episodes they've ever done though.
I have up to Season 14 on DVD. Wouldn't have bought it mind if I'd known it didn't have 2 of the episodes in it.
There's been another season or two since. 14 is very tired.
The best SP episodes are never, EVER that topical or centred around an event. When they are, they get dated within weeks and serve little to no purpose.
But within each run, there are always 2 or 3 more throwaway ones or where they just attack someone out of the blue in a new and interesting way.
Haven't enjoyed watching more than 3 or 4 episodes loads though for a couple of seasons now. Suspect this'll be the last season I buy.
it's insane how quickly they turn over seasons and whilst it seemed to peak between 5 - 12 and its clearly declined the past 3 series it's still amazing how prolific they are... just makes me wish they'd be a little less so.
8 in the autumn, 8 the following spring. We're halfway through 16 at the moment.
Agree with most above that some episodes are pretty bad (generally off the wall for no apparent reason or centre around American culture that hasn't traveled across the Atlantic), but that there's also still some that are well worth watching.
It's just that between seasons 4-11 we were utterly spoiled.
The thing about turning these episodes round in a week means they're going to be more scattergun. The networks like the stuff being relevant to a news story aired on Monday, personally I find the episodes generally suffer.
Viva is showing SP every night right now and the person who has selected the episodes they're showing really knows their shit. They nearly always just show the best handful from each series.
but the ziplining one I thought was really fuuny. And the cupid one that was mentioned earlier. Trouble is South Park is they're like the Fall. You have an average series and people see it as terrible when compared to the rest.
but the quality has dipped, and I'm much more likely to go back and watch earlier episodes, not sure many of the new ones will have the same re-watch value
No.
Saw a little bit of their new series. It included a bunch of kids drinking Jizz.
the new ones from the back end of last year weren't very good
they were still going for the satire thing but it just felt tired or like it was trying too hard
I find the more topical ones from only a year or so ago
to feel really dated. More dated than the early ones that weren't about anything in particular.
i can still enjoy ones which were topical
if the episodes themselves are good
but things like Sarcastiball and Butterballs just weren't very good to start with
the best recent one i saw
was the halloween/blockbuster one
other than that they've not had much going for them
Grow up
There he is

Hmmm, not sure what they're on now?

i think 16 was the last one
and 17 is already confirmed for the end of the year

Also Randy is clearly the best character in it.
16 ended ages ago
Hmmmm
So, probably tie to knock it on the head, but it hasn't gone as shit as The Simpsons?
Not even close!
at least I can still laugh at South Park
Oh God no
It's just that between seasons 4-11 we were utterly spoiled.

i only ever enjoy south park when i'm drunk
i like it
they're going down to fewer episodes per season next time round, will probably make it better
no.
there was a shocking slide in season 11
and it's been awful since season 12.
best thing in the world before that.
Donno if that was this series
but the ziplining one I thought was really fuuny. And the cupid one that was mentioned earlier. Trouble is South Park is they're like the Fall. You have an average series and people see it as terrible when compared to the rest.
Ah yes, that Zip Lining episode was pretty great from what I remember
I still enjoy watching them
but the quality has dipped, and I'm much more likely to go back and watch earlier episodes, not sure many of the new ones will have the same re-watch value
isnt it just full of celebrity parodies now
No, that's DiS
Watching Series 14 right now
1 episode left to go but it's actually been the best one in about 4 series. Really very good on the whole.
