What do we all think of this then?
Post-pussy riot grrl fashions
I am the polar opposite.
I guess this is a bit bandwagonesque but i quite like it.
on the one hand I love a lot of the aesthetics and style of people like Angela Davis
and others that she obviously drew influence from for this collection
on the other hand, she presents non-conformity in possibly the most conformist way possible
it's a bit trite getting her mates to 'perform' in a church too
but i'm coming down on the side of GOOD overall.
Kindof contrived and crass, but ultimately bd.
love this photo
i have a friend who looks a lot liek sevigny
Chloe S is promoting her fashion label using Pussy Riot as the premis, but ultimately all she's doing is selling a few tops?
but we are judging from a few pictures
it may be that the entire press/labelling push is conceptually informing on the history of protest and radicalism but it doesn't appear in the above article
the occupy movement was about individualism? well, sheeit.
I've got so much targeted advertising of things I hate from my idiotic insistence on driving myself mental with fashion threads/links on here.
i mean i can understand the reason behind the first part of that (they're all rich cunts!) but the second bit is just strange. Is it meant to be hot? Or stylish? Just looks like they might as well be dead which, i dunno, maybe that's not so awful when you consider they're a huge impediment to our glorious revolution.
Very try hard indeed. But then I guess protest (against what, i'm not sure) isn't the point, making money is. And to that end i'm sure this will achieve its intended goal.
she's more fetishising subversion - or rather codifying it
which is obviously an untenable paradox
are we still doing this?
i doubt it's intentional - but codifying subversion is a fantastic concept. Theirs a tension in it due to it being paradoxical
Seriously, fucking hell.
There's never been anything like this and I think it's brilliant because it's not just about the clothes -- it's about individualistm and a one-of-a-kind point of view, which is what self expression and fashion should be.
but I still think she's great
she's hanging around here
she's appearing in the new harmony korine film
I thought this was just a character off the back of her name. Not so sure now.
