Would it be unusual to be called back about it now?
and my take is that a company that is that fucking disorganised isn't one I'd want to work for
maybe the took someone else on who was fucking rubbish.
all sorts of reasons:
- other person failed probation
- some kind of delay about getting sign-off for the role
- another identical vacancy has arisen
It is unusual, but not necessarily due to incompetence.
for them to get back to you.
or if the person who got the job left or whatever. no problems.
this happened all the time at my old job because my manager was always overloaded with constant reorganisations. once it took about six months for them to get back to people. funnily enough we ended up with loads of useless people.
I applied when I was being bullied and a bit desperate.
I think I'd rather work with perverts and idiots than in a call centre.
i've pretty much only ever worked in inbound ones, and i've never really had any issues. but i accept it isn't work that everyone can do. the one i work in now is outbound but it's non commercial so i don't mind it too much. spent the weekend calling people and asking them what they think of their housing association, it was dead easy.
(and fwiw the places that actually recruit proper staff tend to be a lot better. the shitty ones use casual labour on zero hour contracts.)
every inbound I've worked for have had really positive atmospheres, kind of a school atmosphere? and I mean that in the best possible way, its still not great but can be lots of fun
i like it.
