for some research purposes. G'wan.
Answered all questions no bar the two about concentration. Doubt those things are down to Dyslexia, though.
but I am a diagnosed dyslexic.
I think that means I'm not dyslexic.
i believe that I have Dyscalculia.
which is the reason i had to seriously start to wonder why i can integrate and differentiate by parts blindfolded, but can't do 43 + 76.
in fact, here's a story: at my school i moved into the top class for maths, and each friday morning she used to do a 15 question arthmetic thing. i used to get so scared of it. anyway, she would go around the class one by one each week in the same order, restarting where she left off the previous week. i used to spend the whole 30 minutes on three questions; the one i expected her to ask me, and one either side of it incase she missed out one person or they were off. it was the only way for me to not feel like my body was trying to fall out my arsehole.
but to carry them out you still need to perform arithmetic procedures the same as adding or subtracting so idk
I've not done any since graduation (which was 1998) so I can't really remember.
which is why i don't have a problem with them. i struggle with arithemtic.
is that a widely known thing? like you heard of dyslexia all the time but i have never even seen that word
mostly because no one really comes into contact with it on a daily basis, but spelling you do. but i do, in my work, and it's fucking embarrasing.
the frequency you read in an average day is a lot higher than the frequency you have to add up or whatever.
i used to attribute it to poor teaching back when i was young but the more i read the more it makes a lot of sense.
i have a disorder that encompasses symptoms of dyscalculia. i got 50 in that test. what i have is neurological but also a processing thing, and i'll see one number but say another or mean to say left but say right and stuff. they come off as silly, careless mistakes but really, if anything, i worry too much about them. it sometimes affects my reading too. it was really a problem at school but because my grades were good nobody gave it any thought until i was about 13.
Some fucking idiotic woman at work I had to see yesterday about time management (off the back of a 121) asked if it's ever been suggested that I'm dyslexic.
She said she was an assessor and I ticked the boxes becasue:
1) I have a bad memory
2) I'm late for stuff
3) I'm "creative"
THAT ISN'T FUCKING DYSLEXIA.
That was honestly her reasoning, and when I said no-one have ever suggested it ever, nor are there any cases of it in my family at all (it's a gene) she still clearly thought I was dyslexic.
Really fucking pissed me off.
doesn't mean there have been previous cases in your family.
doesn't mean out of the blue I have dyslexia.
What questions did you not put 'No' down to? Most of them I can't imagine anyone being able to put a yes to without some sort of medical condition, even if it's just some kind of squint or eye complaint.
But that's because the only unfamiliar words I come across now are really obscure because I'm so old. So... Probably -50 in reality.
I have had two separate people tell me the exact opposite as to if I have it, so when asked I find it impossible to answer the question. I wish I could get a job where being shit paid well too.
getting tired when reading and having low concentration were the only things i ticked
like, I've only had problems with these since I started spending fucking ages online.
Probably because I answered yes to questions like getting distracted by reading - I do, but there are a wealth of reasons behind that which aren't related to reading difficulties.
be they philosophical, emotional or plot-related (i.e. wait, what just happened) ponderances, or sudden jolts of inspiration (urge to write some music).
very easily distracted when I'm not shut off from others, esp. noisy others.
I scored -10.
(P.s. I am actually dyslexic)
I was diagnosed with mild Dyslexia as a kid BTW
And Question 6 is badly worded.
b d b d b d b d b d b d
This test gives me result: you have dyslexia but another
Above tells another story, It tells i do not have dyslexia but might have adhd.
You Are Suffering From Dyslexia Disorder
Points= 26 Out of 41
Whatever it is I got -30
Wouldn't surprise me I can't spell and often write similar words by mistake (their there etc) even though I know the difference it's just automatic (people who make a big deal over spelling or grammar are absolute scum)
