Our tenancy is up for renewal
Landlord has previously been paying council tax, we have no evidence of this and he is being a bit shifty in providing it
We reckon he is declaring it as single occupancy for the discount :/
He has now asked us to pay it (instead of rent increase) but it will stay in his name....we are fine with that but want to check with the Council it has been paid...cant seem to do that without getting him found out right?
There is no clause in our tenancy agreement that this is his responsibilty either...he needs to put one in to this effect (£xxx rent including £125pm for Council tax or something right?) and i cant get my wording right? Any legal eagles able to help?
