Who I am wondering.
and am getting more into other noisy electronics, simple oscillators, contact mics and other such things. It's really really bloody good fun. There's nothing on it yet (apart from my home made mini amplifier but I'm going to be posting things on lotsofwires.tumblr.com
Meowington, or 'Screameowingtone'
that someone on here was posting some glitch image stuff a few months back. They should post some more.
I stayed up until 3 in the morning watching videos of a man in a cowboy hat doing loads of circuit bending stuff with kids toys recently
Usually get any toy which makes a noise, replace resistors with pots, and see what works.
I'm also building one of these
but its been on hold for nearly 6 months. Need to finish it really
this weekend managed to do a couple of little guitar pedal mods:
Removed and shorted a resistor to make it self-oscillate (even tho I kind of don't like that sound) and added a hold switch. Could do much more no doubt but leaving well enough alone for know, fiddly surface mount electronics. I think i'd want to rehouse it before trying anything like increasing the delay time range etc.
"Improved" one of the legendary "worst" guitar pedals ever made, the DOD Gonkulator. Replaced the pointless output volume control with a ringmod pitch control, now it goes all the way from tremolo up to high squealing ring modulation tones. A more musically useful version would probably have a switch between high and low range or an additional fine tuning knob but this is fine for me. I nearly broke it (burned a capacitor while clumsily desoldering) so once again I'm leaving well enough alone.
but if you are vaguely near reading and looking to get into this kind of thing then we've got this workshop going on in march.
