these are incredible. I love Kodachrome images.
I have a stash in my fridge thank fuck.
But yeah, those are brilliant pictures.
I just like shooting film too!
I guess I mean it's good that we've progressed, surely?
That woman in the yellow blouse fixing the propellor in the 3rd pic looks like The Queen
and i think everyone just looks more beautiful in b&w don't they.
you might like these if you haven't already discovered them http://www.boredpanda.com/ghosts-of-war-wwii-photos-blended-into-present/
but I always think people used to live in a monochrome world
And men still reckoned there were jobs that were "man's work". I mean, they built stuff that men fighting the War trusted their lives to.
but apparently the war, both world wars in fact, completely smashed old protcols and social expectations. Obvious not enough (let's not get into a sexism row again) but for example when a couple used to date, they had to have a chaperone but during the war, all the men weren't there so that just stopped. Shit like that.
The ins and outs of war are mega fascinating. Yo.
I mean it's clear it smashed the class system a lot, certainly to the extent the no one is visibly expected to have a 'place' in society, even if the reality is that it's still far too hard to pull yourself out of poverty.
Three if I answer your duplicate post.
when women used to actually work.
I love the women working in mens jobs too.....but my absolute favourate is number 17, it just looks so grimey, and yet somehow filmic glamorous, it really should be from a film (ditto 18, definatly like its out of a movie)
makes me want to take proper photos!
