Anyone else watching?
And yes that is Jamie from the thick of it! I hope he's as much of a son of a bitch in this as he was in that!
gonna check it out tomorrow on 4OD.
who was last seen as the terrifying Gatehouse in The Shadow Line.
My girlfriend isn't sold on it so we will be catching up on Ripper Street instead. Will check it out soon though
but who was trolling DiS for research?
Need to watch some Rainbow Brite now so I don have nightmares.
Not sure whether it'll have the legs for six episodes mind.
It was dead good though, yeah
and that was a torture scene that I had previously read about. It was a bit laughable.
The ads intrigued me.
but it's definitely just a more violent Children's BBC drama.
i'm just going to enjoy this. the torture scene really did have me wincing also.
but the second was much better. the torture scene was horrible. looking forward to the rest of it!
really looking forward to the other parts. It reminded me of Channel 4 dramas in the late 90s like Ultraviolet and another one I'm trying to remember more about.
Really fun and intriguing. The guy from Kill List appears to be playing the guy from Kill List.
all the 'U' programmes.
It was a bit odd seeing Idris as Stringer in the Wire because of that.
but it was funny watching Luther after The Wire. Luther is brilliant, but so ridiculous!
The kid, Grant, is great. Jessica Hyde's getting on my nerves a bit though.
Also, it's wonderfully shot.
Great soundtrack though.
the part where the man's wife was watching the dvd and holding the sonograms was chilling to say the least
Thought it was going to dip after the first episode but the last two have been excellent.
Totally fancy Becky, don't care if she's a double agent, in fact I think that makes me like her more.
looks amazing - great tension - nice black humour - some great badguys - excellent sound design - each week I instantly want to see more. One of the best British drama shows we've had for quite some time.
My only bugbears are the somewhat clumsy exposition and that at the heart of it, it's a bit of a lightweight plot, but that's forgivable with something that's so lovingly crafted.
a liiiitle bit cringy at some points. but otherwise it's great.
but it got a bit silly this week. It's not that sophisticated. But I do like it. The slight crapness kinda adds to the experience.
I watch it ironically, in a self aware post-modern sense.
It's stylish but empty.
whappen? also why did the welsh one bugger off? shaky hands syndrome?
Jessica sees that bit of rock on Milner's desk, the one Arbie / Pietre was talking about and how only the most powerful people had a piece. So Jessica works out that Milner was behind the whole thing and Mr Rabbit was just another stooge (Wilson only printed out pictures of the MEN at the meeting). She bolts out of the office and up to the roof where she burns the manuscript.
Milner seems thoroughly un-arsed, shoots Jessica in the knee cap and tells her the manuscript is just a rough guide on how to achieve Janus admitting she burned down the warehouse full of the vaccine because it only might have actually worked. She tells her that Jessica's dad hid the formula in his 'greatest achievement' which was his daughter. Then she dips her finger in Jessica's bullet wound and waves the blood in front of her face to taunt her, explaining that she never wanted the manuscript, she just wanted Jessica to deliver the manuscript. We all work out that the code must be hidden in her DNA and Jessica looks like she's about to greet.
Think Becky bolted because she started having seizures and didn't want Ian to see her waste away to be a vegetable, she obviously wanted to go away and be on her own. Genuinely thought she was going to top herself when she asked Grant to get her some water.
(Accidental ^this by the way)
Really hope there`s a second series.
could have been better. Suffered greatly from corkscrew syndrome.
At the end, I had the same "WOAH, WTF!" feeling you get at the end of a breaking bad series.
(*SPOILER*) if Milner was after Jessica all along... why not just hunt down Jessica rather than waste time going after the manuscript?
if Milner found it first Jessica would eventually come find it where they could trap her i guess?
I enjoyed it, it wasn't perfect plot wise but every scene looked stunning and I really loved Arbie, Wilson and Becky as characters. Was strange seeing Jamie play an absolute pussy.
Two episodes kick it off on the 14th and 15th July.
(the first series is on 4oD if you want to catch up or remind yourself about it)
i loved this show
can't really remember what the hell happened tho
Becky from Utopia was in it. Overall, I would say it probably wasn't as good as Utopia...
Hope they don't ruin it
Loved the first series. Bit worried that the second series will be rubbish. A lot of the appeal was during the first few episodes of series one when we didn't really have a clue what was happening.
Looking forward to that swirling messed up theme tune making its appearance during the tense parts of the show..
but I don't remember anything about it other than the theme music
not the school massacre scene
not the denouement on the rooftop with Jessica getting shot?
Actually, I rewatched 10 minutes of it last night. Completely forgot about the opening 5 minutes, interrogating and killing in the comic store. So yeah, probably forgotten most of it too.
more of the same, really.
I can't remember anything that happened in the first series
