the lead woman seems like a right moody sort
However, there were some utterly brilliant episodes this time around.
Season 1-6, btw, are fantastic.
especially the second.
After that it becomes a steady build of in-jokes, but very good ones, based around those opening episodes
It's fallen into that post-modern trap a bit for me now. It's one thing doing nods to old episodes and in-jokes but a whole season's worth was too much for me and reeked of them running out of ideas.
less LOL moments and more something quite knowing, and I know what you mean about the post-modern thing. I felt quite abused when the Charlie Rules the World episode finished how it did, but impressed.
The trash limo should have been a better episode in its own right. THAT cameo made me laugh.
I don't know. I thought season seven was largely boring. This season i did chuckle a fair bit.
Also love how bad Frank's acting is even 8 seasons in.
HATED the gang getting analysed. Really thought it was the worst thing they've done and it could have been magnificent but descended into farce in a much more forced way than usual.
The suggestions of Mac being closeted were fun, hopefully they run with that in Season 9.
i knew what was going to happen in Charlie and Dee find love, and yet still I was willing it not to just for ANY sort of change.
The dinner episode was utterly brilliant, yes. But there's farce there too, just better edited. When Den and Mac get chilly and they cut back to Charlie and Frank looking sneaky wearing coats it made me bark out a laugh from the absurdity of it.
whereas Dennis is becoming more and more of a sociopath. I wouldn't be surprised if the end of the show would be Mac in an compromising situation and Dennis actually finally flipping out and killing someone. Meanwhile, Dee's car gets smashed
Him flipping out at the end of the high school reunion episode about his tools was an amazing culmination of all the hints up until that point.
i like to BE bound
but that was the 2nd episode and the most blatant use of 're-cycling' ideas. It was a mostly strong series but there were a couple stinkers, but to be honest I think that about every season.
When they stopped writing her as *the straight man* and just let her be part of the gang she comes into her own. I think she's probably the funniest woman on the planet.
Season 8 was really bad though. Think they need to call it quits now.
because once she's allowed to try and get some dignity they strip it away from her and its usually really funny, i:e when she becomes an ostrich
is one of my favourite moments of any series. It's just the ultimate in prat-fall.
Just watched the pooped the bed episode :')
that and the one where they're all drinking red wine out of pop cans
Gail the Slug <3
Charlie in the mailroom, the joint interview (which has the best outtakes ever btw), Dee and Dennis going to the gym, Frank doing One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest again. It's superb.
Got a bit of catching up to do (as I have with basically every other American sitcom since I moved back home two years ago).
Or Sky? Or do you buy/borrow/netflix/libraryloan box sets? Or is it getting watched via 'other means'?
or used to be. i had to buy the box sets for 1,2 and 3 and then buy a cheap shit DVD player to lock in into the north american region to be able to play them repeatedly.
British television doesn't screen it to my knowledge which is REAL FUCKING ANNOYING. Same with the league.
