on the wall of a Facebook event page of a show, if they can play at said show.
worst ever was when we used to put house shows on. we did an alldayer and this fucking cunt bitch was giving us loads of shit because we wouldn't let her band play. there were like 11 bands to get through, there was no way we could fit another.
she was asking us if she could play at the show AT the show. like while we were all humping gear around and making sure everyone was organised. her bandmates were there with no gear, trying to convince us to let them play and borrow all the equipment they needed
who would think that was ok?!
they were a fucking awful band. 4 really stuck up girls that seemed to think they were the next big thing. they stopped being a band when it wasn't cool anymore about 6 months later and they all took up djing instead. god i wanted to high five them all in the face with a chair
He asked if he could play an (unscheduled) acoustic set and one of the bands said yes and lent him a guitar.
So it would seem Evan Dando thinks it's ok.
i can't imagine how people could have such a high opinion of themselves to try and do something like that when venues are so shit about curfews and the like
i think not.
please tell me that happened to you
yeaaah thats bad
i dunno. she was a fucking bitch. she was the worst type of person. endless slagging people off, endless sucking up to people that she thought could help her out in any way. i stand by what i say
When some band with 47382034 promo photos and one semi acoustic show at the 66 social club bombards every gig listing with a request to play. Fucking depressing.
I speak from experience :D
AS IF THEY ARE SO IMPORTANT. I'm DISGUSTED that Facebook have started promoting this practice by asking you to do this every time you click the Decline button now.
Yeah, replying to whichever random person invited them personally like anyone else or the promoters even know who they are or what they're on about
