Couple of rumours buzzing around. People have noticed HMV staff putting different coloured stickers on various products - red cross and blue cross - which are not, as yet, reduced. There's all-hands meetings due this week.

There's a few posts kicking around on Twitter which suggest that they're not closing down (yet), but there will be a 25% off mega sale starting on Friday. Someone's suggested that the marked titles are all Universal-distributed ones, and it's an attempt to clear some stock, ease inventory, help to generate revenues to pay off their next loan payment, and stay in business.

However, the colour coded sticker strategy is worrying, as it suggests that prices/discounts can be increased without the need to resticker the stock. So... this might well lead to a closing down sale later. Maybe.

Nonetheless - big sale on Friday, by the looks of it.
