i are fat bastard. OFFICIAL
Still, I know this puts me on the obese BMI borderline.
But like I said in the other thread, I've swapped chocolate digestives for rich teas so I'll soon be fighting fit.
i don't know what to do to make my pants fir properly. i really like drinking beer!
then leave them somewhere with not much fresh air for a few weeks
they will fur up nicely then
nice to meet me
i think i'm like 5'9 or 5'10
Im that and 12 stone of PURE MUSCLE POWER
gonna lose weight i am though.
without a measuring tool. measure against the internet or something
so 7.5 inches. it's like 7 inches and 4 bits. so what do i multiply? 7.5 * 9.6? = 6foot? i don't think i'm 6 foot
guess based on one of them.
i weigh roughly the same but am 6'4
but just trying to find a way to measure myself
I'm fairly happy with this as I have lost about a stone and firmed up a lot since I joined the gym (1 yr anniversary today in fact). I think it is as much about your self-image as anything really.
Subthread: how light / heavy are DiSers? And how do you feel about this?
i also don't want to pay to join a gym. think i can just ride a bike round in circles
80-odd% of memberships are taken out during Jan, and 80-odd% of these don't get their money's worth. FiveLive asked people to text in with their cost v usage stats: record was a guy who'd been joined for 2 years, paid £90 a month and had been for a swim twice in that time. Average cost of each swim c£1,100.
SO full and busy of people that won't stick it out.
I aim for 6 times a week, manage normally at least 4.
I console myself with the fact that they will all be gone in 3 weeks and things will return to normal
I pay £30 a month, and for the last month I can count the amount of times i've been on two hands, but it's because I'm frequently reading/writing stuff for my course or sparked out after work on thursday/friday or actually doing something somewhere that isn't home. It isn't viable, but it bums me out as I did kinda love it.
that genuinely sucks, and it's annoying that all of those people that go 5 times a year just have memberships they don't even like to use.
I'd love to be supportive but at the same time I hate waiting for machines and being choked by the smell of lynx in the changing room.
No way are you even near 10 stone?!
Let's see if I can top it this time.
because my scales are broken (yeah sure Jabba the Hut). So I only know if I've lost or gained weight since I first discovered they weren't working. Currently half a stone down :).
I've just done a yea r of no exercise (like formal exercise) and I weighed myself yesterday and I'm seven stone 10. I was bang on eight stone this time last year. I guess I've lost muscle mass. If I go above about 8.5 stone I look really heavy, because I'm wee and have a smallish frame. If I go under 7.5 stone I look puny. It's a fairly shit and narrow window within which to work, I can still lift up grown men one handed though.
My mum's idea of a light meal is a bowl of chips. So that plus Christmas excess and I wouldn't be surprised if I'm pushing 13 stone again.
HOWEVER I'm comfortably taking a 34" waist in trousers after being 36" for most of my 20s (and now wear medium rather than large in jumpers etc) so I'm pretty much winning.
I'll get back losing weight when I'm making my own meals again, no problem.
Get some weights and do some cross training. I've lost half a stone in 3 months!
It's changed my life to be honest. As sickly as that sounds.
The thing is, it's not really that hard work. You're just doing sets of reps for each muscle group, so you never really end up abslutely exhausted. as long as you keep it up you're guaranteed to shape up. Once you've lost a bit then you can ad some cardio in.
Not even thinly veiled.
I'm being more careful with the clothes I buy/wear to mask the chub, too.
Does the mosside Chinese buffet have a January sale on or something?
I was around the 18st mark (I attribute at least 2st of that to face-size) Am I the fattest? What do I win? Is it food?
(one for the teenagers there)
When I was at uni I hit about 20/21st due to having disposable income and a lot of time for drinking/eating.
Makes sense though considering I could definitely beat yous all in a fight situation.
I'm an eater, not a fighter.
Lets team up.
Or to fight crime? Because I'm not very good at hiding for face-based reasons.
I just have a mental image of all DiS males as devilishly attractive 12st stripplings with designer facial hair, and all DiS females as petite waifs with dark hair and pale skin.
A few pounds heavier at the moment due to Christmas.
I used to weigh about 14st 5lb before I decided to be slim and sinewy. You can do it, c_r!
I am 6 foot tall and rapidly widening - I can wear 34" waist jeans fine (ish) but work trousers are now all 36"...when you hold one of the up after a day's use they look like clown trousers, so depressing!
go post simpsons costumes
I find that a mirror and my clothes are a fairly good indicator if I'm becoming a fat cunt or not.
I only weigh myself about once a year round this time of year generally. So for all I know I fluctuate wildly in between (except I know i don't really cos my clothes fit,)
We all know how healthy our lifestyles are really...is weight the best indicator? I dunno.
about 10 1/2 stone
i look like what you're imagining; a pasty, lanky, skinny fuck
im 5ft8 11 stone and slim
you must be a proper bean
I'm about 5'8 and 158.6 lb (as of last night). Aiming to get below 140lb by the end of the year.
Was 14st this time last year. Was 12st at the start of December.
Kept up the gym throughout December, just about, and am close to as fit as I've ever been, which is good, but the winter beer and snacking halted the weight loss progress and then undid a quarter of my years loss in the space of a month.
Was close to 12.5st at the start of this week and that's coming down to 12 by the end of Jan. Then the other 2st is coming off and staying off.
It's pretty much all about the calorie intake when it comes to weight loss.
I look in the mirror and think yeah, you might not be a svelte hunk, but you don't look bad on it, bro. It's only when I see myself in photos that I seem to be able to be objective (aka aghast) about how I look. But then I pretend that the camera puts two stone on you and go back to being a complacent/narcissistic fucker. So it's the steadily improving run times (and the presumption/hope that that's where the real health benefits are) that prompt me to exercise, more than the weight loss or body shape thing.
YEAH I KNOW I KNOW.
still think i've lost weight lately... was probably 9.5 like sept/oct time.
i was sulking through realising you were only just over half my weight
as i've said to you about TEN FLIPPING TIMES
if it's so easy to put weight and so hard to get it off maybe we are supposed to all weight like 20 stones?
presuming the gain/loss aren't separated by decades of metabolic degradation, it's just that it is easier to eat than to run.
still, maybe, there are a few too many of us, perhaps we are evolving into people who die earlier for the greater good or sutin.
P.s. I've been > 20st ... was alright actually, not as bad as all that.
would you lose weight? you'd waste away. not just sit there eating cheese all day.
i've made that figure up admittedly, but your 2500 a day allowance or whatever is calculated to include you doing mostly fuck all i think.
i'm going to maths a couple of these stones straight in the bin. how much calories can be burned by posting on internet forums?
but have been eating ham pretty much constantly for 2 weeks......and cheese....so am back to 15 stone summit.......am 6ft 7 tho, so....
pretty flabby round the love handles, but fuck it, I'm tall-ish, broad, I carry it reasonably well and the equation is clearly 'think you are fine = get responded to in that way' ... no-one cares about my body, it is just a big 'ol social feedback loop.
i'm about 5 11 height and hit into size 30 - 32 jeans, buy small or medium ts / jumpers (usually medium)
have put on a little bit of a beer belly that i'd like to shift slightly as i have a few nice jackets that are a bit of a squeeze these days.
like slim fit blazer type things.
LIKE A MOD
would say I'm around 10 and a half stone, which is painfully underweight. need to fall back in love with food, for sure.
happy new year everyone!
have some pork scratchings
been through the mill, for sure. last couple months of 2012 have been an absolute personal disaster for me.
kind of pulling myself together now. need to get back on the bike and have some bananas
Old place aint been quite the same without you
Which is pretty slim but i'm usually just under 10 stone.
i put THREE STONE on
coasting along at maintenance for years and then suddenly 800 cals (four pints-ish) a day more and six months in you are a fast bastard.
I want to be under 10 stone. Its doable. I used to weight 12 stone 6 and said I wanted to be under 11 stone and I did that JUST.
I think I am fat. I have a fat bum and thunder thighs and my belly is wobbly. I am working on it though.
I wanna know how much my boobs weigh but it seems like a lot of effort to weigh water then dunk a boob in then weigh the water again and do the math.
Definitely going into """the book""""
and then rest a boob on it
cheers and CHEERS
I can still fit into my jeans, trouser, tshirts and sjirts so I must weigh similar. I eat massive portions of food (albeit healthy food) and drink loads on the weekends and balance this out with exercise. Some days I make a calorie deficit, some days I don't.
The summertime helps as that is when I cycle the most (300 miles a week). But all the time I can sit on a carbon frame and seatpost, my weight must be alright.
My weight seems to fluctuate by up to half a stone every week somehow though.
One of my NY Resolutions is replace smokes with biscuits. I'm hoping to get up to ten stone through muscle gain but my calorie intake is too low.
Never been overweight before. I am 6'5" but even then my BMI is now about 27.
