I must have at least 20.
but then i look and they've gone missing.
someone is eating them/stealing them. is it you?
if so, any DiSer who denies owning one is most definitely lying, especially so if they live in london or manchester.
and more your standard supermarket bags. I just never carry bags around with me despite continually requiring food.
Fun fact: in San Francisco, plastic carrier bags are illegal (though carry out restaurants can use them until 2014, I think). If you go to the store and don't have your own bags, paper bags are 10 cents.
Thought it was supposed to be about looking after the environment. It's about 20cent for a plastic bag here, first time i was met with this I walked out of the store carrying a loaf of bread and hummus and had to take the bus back. (Thus negating my 20c saving)
You can pay extra for a heavy duty bag in most places (5p to 15p), but normal bags are free.
But if you use the self-service machines, you can just take them for nothing.
BEATING THE SYSTEM! (theft)
m&s charge for bags, not sure about Morrissons or Tesco.
conversation with one of the shop owners in my neighborhood about this. Because they have to charge for bags now, they have to report the bags as merchandise i.e. no tax write off for basic supplies. Also, the bags are more expensive. It's so, so dumb. So often I just go to Daly City to do my big shopping trips because paper AND plastic bags are free! :D
Wouldn't want people to think i was a vegetarian, or even worse, a Guardian reader.
why would i buy one with free carrier bags? daft
Got plenty of the plastic ones, though.
as a bin bag. I'm 'half' green.
