the man is an odious little toerag. Although I'd love to hear him in the BB house "You should'a screamed me right down, and rubbed me back"
are we saying that people shouldn't be allowed to have a career because of how they behave or have behaved?
Whether they necessarily DESERVE it is another thing entirely, but you can't stop a persom from earning a living just because they've been a bit of a dick.
Punish him for whatever he's done, but it ought not to have a huge effect on his right to continue the career he's built up, imho.
It's not a question of stopping him having a career; it is that the producers of BB have chosen him precisely because of what he has done. It is the narrative and angle they have chosen. Do you think they'd give a shit about having Bristols premier pukka pad PR man on the show if he hadn't been a notourious twat of late?
I did wonder where he went, so I'll add women beater to the list of things to hate about him
i keep trying to make a point about justin lee collins and my brain just goes nah, dont bother with that, cut to the chase...
justin lee collins is a cunt who should never have been given any screen time. ive hated him since he first popped up doing those wacky nostalgia programs on channel 4 and havnt stopped hating him since. every time i saw that hed been given money to prop up his own failing ego with some banal fucking cheap shot piece of shit television program i felt that someone with a good idea somewhere had been cheated.
and then it transpired that he was a violent, horrible bullying cunt on top of being vacuous, bland and having the shittest hair this side of the 70's.
Is that what this thread boils down to?
every now and again i seem to fall in sync with a popular or populist opinion.
like that foo fighters are dad rock thread, i thought it'd be mostly apologists' woeful moist eyed wailings and caterwaulings, it was done partly as a wind up out of boredom. didnt for a second think folk would agree.
but i actually mean this. id buy a tv license again if the bbc would guarantee theyd air drop the cunt into the middle of the ocean.
You're not as punk as you think you are.
so you might have a point.
it's not going to stick!
i was thinking last night, that i might buy a cape.
that's exactly the sort post I'd expect from you about JLC's perma-student manchild style of humour and TV.
hopefully no one will watch shows that he is in and that will be the end of that.
So I was surprised when all this came out.
I certainly wouldn't be inclined to watch him on anything again, because I'd never be able to look at him without thinking of all the horrible shit he did and knowing that by watching it, I was somehow condoning him.
And I guess if enough people feel similarly to how I do, he won't have a continued career on TV, because producers will see his presence as a liability that will turn people away - the same way Chris Langham has never really worked again. So I suppose it's up to the public to decide if they can see past his crime. They still seem to like Chris Brown and Mike Tyson though.
but...remind me which rehab he's been seeking?
surely the argument is that he's dodging the need for rehab by going on Big Brother to ingratiate himself with the public in a way that doesn't involve him actually changing anything about his life.
drop kick the cunt into the sun.
id watch that.

Your Channel-5-based chat show?
Nope, neither do we
I still watch Thick of It episodes with Langham in.
having real regret at what's happened and a genuine desire to make reparation of some sort.
i dont think collins has the depth of character for either of these things. he is waste.
is going to undergo any real rehabilitation when his reputation as human wreckage is still getting him work?
opening up this 'ooh you liberal hypocrites' angle is poor obfuscation and also a retread of some of your previous work. I think much more highly of your craft and am a bit disappointed.
JLC - sure, get tv programmes commissioned and what not ... no real problem with that. Getting signed up for something ON THE BACK OF your horrid bullshit though, that's dark.
Similar with Chris Brown, sing your shit songs and what not ... but don't trade on the domestic abuse, that's when you loose me.
I doubt they've offered it him because he's had a high-profile court case of late. He'd have almost certainly been offered most of these sort of shows on a regular basis. Perhaps now he's got more reason to take them than before?
or indeed charm, that he has a very limited shelf life. He'll accept any old shit with both hands as long as they keep offering it to him.
who was the victim to all of this. Like he's gonna go in there and NOT say anything about what happened. Someone will bring it up and ask him about it. He shouldn't not have a career but he shouldn't be on TV and having fans.
But then again it is Big Brother. Hardly the greatest TV show in the world. He's probably using it as a way to 'tell his side of the story'.
when he finally gets out of bb, replete with sad tales of hard times growing up that he'll try to use to justify why he emotionally, psychologically and physically abused someone he was in a relationship with.
that and the chat show appearances he'll get on the back of this.
half a brick is all it would take to make the world a slightly better place.
just hit him hard enough to cause irreparable brain damage.
You're typing away thinking "oh man, my posts are gonna come across soooo super cynical and people are gonna love it. I'm kind of like Charlie Brooker crossed with Stewart Lee in the way i'm so caustically taking down JLC whilst also letting people know that i'm totally against the oppression of women, which is a non-controversial view to hold, but i've expressed it in a totally cool controversial way. If I swear a bit too and make out like I want to hurt him people'll think i'm really dangerous as well, when all along only i'll know that i'm taking on a really safe target whilst trying to make my views look controversial."
its as if you are inside m y m i n d .
but theres not much thinking involved in most of what i type.
do this with your political trolling, you've really let that side of things slide in recent times.
im sure someone must have bought it.
What's the inside goss (gossip) on JLC (Justin Lee Collins) going on CBB (Celebrity Breakfast Boys)?
4 x 30 mins, ITV3, rumoured teatime slot. Commissioning editors are on-board. crewing up in Jan.
In that I don't think allowed/not allowed should come into it. However, if people are disgusted at CBB's choice of guest, then then should indeed speak out and if the business decision looks like it's bad business and no-one will touch him with a bargepole then that seems like a form of justice.
If you do something people find sickening, then being an outcast is the correct outcome.
Personally I'd quite like to see him on there being challenged about it and coming across even worse.
