Dishonored
This game is ace!
For me the gameplay is a cross between Metal Gear Solid (the stealth aspect and alerting enemies, etc) the Fall Out games (turn based combat system) and Skyrim, with the sorcery element.
Really loving this....would have been nicer if it was a bit more open world, but never mind.
Has anyone else completed this? Is it a relatively lengthy game to complete? I think that In Limbo mentioned it last Thursday when I asked about it.
I picked it up for £27, but it's bound to go down in price after Christmas day I reckon.

Between this and Far Cry 3
i've been contemplating getting a new telly and lifting my self-imposed gaming ban.
I was thinking about getting Far Cry 3, but went for this.
Will probably get it once I've completed this.
i liked the first two far cry games up to a certain point (oh hi we've taken all your weapons away)
i'll probably feel the same about this, but at least i can fanny about and hunt tigers and stuff if the main story doesn't grab me.
fallout 3 perhaps correctly being called skyrim with guns
is way better then the first 2 games

I took about 12 hours on Dishonored
Although you could do it in probably a third of the time if you go through it quickly. I spent a lot of time exploring and looking for stuff.
It's my game of the year I think.
Rented Dishonored and Far Cry 3 this weekend
to decide which one to buy for the holidays and after an hour or so with each I think I'm going for Dishonored.
My main concerns though are how short it's going to be (just 9 missions) and it seems very easy. When you start picking up and upgrading the magic bits apparently you can just breeze through missions ignoring most of the game if you're so inclined. Definitely one of them to take your time in and live in the environment for most enjoyment.
Did Bethesda make Bioshock? Dishonored reminds me a lot of that game in many ways.
Rent Dishonored buy Far Cry 3
you're doing it wrong, Dishonoured is a classic example of a great game to rent but Far Cry 3 is a classic example of game you need to buy to get the most out of it.
id agree
if dishonored is only 9 missions long, even with multiple ways of completing them, id probably plump for putting my cash down on the sandbox game. better vfm in the long run.
+ separate (though not as good) co-op campaign, map editor & a decent if somewhat generic competitive multiplayer game
and like Dishonored you can approach the majority of the game however you please.... ah that time when a pack of dogs just decided to clear out a base for me whilst I was wondering how to stealth my way threw... priceless! Played it over my friends on the XBox and I just gave everyone a lovely little lick of flamethrower and burnt the surrounding foliage BURN BABY BURN!
This is the same section btw & about 8 hours difference... hence the flamethrower with outrageous amounts of fuel :D
this wasn't a luxury I had to me when I was playing it on my PC... oh and I love how the game makes you go from stealthy scaredy cat to rambo in the course of the game & the characters lines change as the game develops. But if you really want to you can just not upgrade anything and use none of the new weapons and play stealth the whole game
thats pretty much how i played the first two fc games
until it inevitably took my sniping rifle and silenced pistol off of me and tried to force me to us animal magic or some shit for ages. that's when i got bored.
I have both Dishonored and Far Cry 3
but haven't had time to play either properly yet.
:(
I've got both Dishonored and Far Cry 3 for the GF for Christmas
Annoying because a) I have to wait till christmas and b) I'll have to let her play them first.
but it means you can watch and go
'oooh, wouldn't do that' or 'if you'd only shot that guy first' when she dies and that
and she'll get right fucked off and just give you the game 'if you can do it so well'.
:D
That's true
I did that with Assassin's Creed and Skyrim. She also gets mad because I always end up overtaking her as well. :/
