you won't regret it
Might regret supporting Bradford though
yeah i can't see them getting out of the conference north this season
nah, they already have a couple of fans here
the team most direly in need of DiS fans is Millwall, who are 6th in the Championship and pushing for great things. they wear pretty blue shirts plus they have a nice name :)
plus darwindude would absolutely LOVE the chat
on millwall vitals forum
you should support sunderland with me. my mam will knit you a scarf.
might support the gers
help them get out of the third division
Urgh.
For some reason, I think Celtic hate Rangers more than the other way around
I just don't really care about Celtic. I like it when we beat them and all that but why all the hate? I accept I'm not very representative of Rangers fans.
The hatred is in danger of lumping us in with all the sectarian morons, surely?
I dunno, I get the impression that it's not just Celtic who dislike Rangers.
It's odd that in Northern Ireland and Scotland the preference comes down to a sectarian division, but in England just about everyone, whether they're Catholic or Protestant, a royalist or a republican, prefers Celtic.
Citation needed?
Nah, I sort of get that Celtic do have a slightly better kudos with the people that feel the need to pick a team in a league they don't really actually care about but it seems to be one of these self-perpetuating things.
Seems to me, these days, that supporting Rangers is far indie-r thing to do. I realise I am wibbling utter nonsense here.
I grew up in a place that is Rangers through and through and kind of ended up supporting Rangers as my whole family and basically everyone I knew did. But it was a place with a huge problem with sectarianism. Luckily I have a brain.
Both teams have got their extremely black marks in their history and both have some really vile followers but this whole Big Bad Rangers - perceived wisdom does annoy me a bit.
When Celtic were playing that last Champions League game, I genuinely didn't know what I wanted to happen before Samaras took that dive. Glad for Scottish football and the atmosphere sounded great but I very much doubt I know of any Celtic fans who are nice, nice people who would feel the same if tables were turned.
Anyway I'm rambling. Just thought I'd stick up for my clubs and many of our fans.
Rangers are vile
and i'm not talking about their fans.
*were
obviously they don't exist anymore.
In what way can a club be vile?
Once you divorce them from the fans.
Unless you hate the players or the manager or whatever.
It's just some guys running about.
celtic are horrible
Aw c'mon gie the Gers a break
this should get you up to speed on the basics

what you should actually do...
is just pick the shittest possible team and support them.
if you're moving to Glasgow soon, why not support Queens Park?
They play in the Scottish 3rd Division, and although they're by no means the poorest team in it, they're the poorest-supported side in Scottish professional football, yet they play their home games at Hampden Park (the national stadium) which holds 53,000 people, but draw crowds of around 600.
Failing that, i can recommend lots of good non-league clubs in and around Manchester.
either way, you should probably read up about this defunct club...
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Third_Lanark_A.C.
they used to play here, sure you'll know of it - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cathkin_Park
my grandad was a Third Lanark fan
ummmmm.....that's all I've got......
I play football at that park on sundays in the summer
it's amazing/kinda eerie because the stands are still there in amongst the trees
shall we go watch some non-league clubs together and see how it goes?
watching queen's park is a surreal affair
on account of the difference between stadium capacity and crowd size.
amateurs, too. noble.
£2 for students
cannae complain fae that
poorest-supported side in Scottish professional football
Where did you get that from? They are nowhere near the worst supported side.
In answer to the original question, support Partick Thistle.
just had a looked at this season's average crowd stats
and I (sort of) apologise, you are right. However the only reason theirs is so low is because they are one of the only teams not to have had a visit from Rangers this year. The stats from last year paint a much more accurate picture.

That's a terrible name for an alt. Have you never heard of subtlety?
i know but forza had a little cry and got rid of yaya...
Watch NFL instead
Save yourself the hassle
Support Barcelona.
KILMARNOCK!

WHEYYYYYYYYYYY
It is LONG past time we did an NME-style cool list
for which club is the uncoolest to follow on here based on how people on this board represent it. Uncoolest bunch get the number one spot.
That's a trophy the two North London clubs might actually be competing in
It would be a complex list though
One Zapsta would probably be worth about 5 normal, sane fans.
Everton
class act, on and off the pitch. capable of playing some sublime football (especially down that left wing courtesy of the brilliant Baines and Pienaar combo) and have a tendency to beat big teams.
of course they'll do that and go and lose to Reading the following week, but at least it keeps it entertaining. oh, and they also have one of the Great Histories of any club, anywhere.
in short, they represent everything that is good and exciting about modern football. and if you think i'm being a biased Everton fan, well, you'd be totally right.
yesterday wasn't class :D
nope...
...but they have thus far handled it perfectly, unlike numerous other clubs in similar such recent situations.
Nah.
Thuggish long-ball merchants, with the bitterest manager in football.
(and i quite like them, btw!)
thuggish long ball merchants?
throughout the 90's, absolutely. but now? i'm afraid not.
i remember before all the money
you saying everton were the team most similar to man city
most similar club...
not team.
Man City have rarely been long-ball merchants, even when they were really, really rubbish.
Emmeline Pankhurst supported Spurs
Don't Doncaster have a decent team?
support the ball itself
Aaahh.
Do what lefty wibblers do and get a St. Pauli shirt
Can't believe nobody's suggested it already, they're right up your street
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FC_St._Pauli#Club_culture
I should add that I am a big old wibbler too
and you should actually do this
http://www.fremantlefc.com.au/Default.aspx
as long as you don't support FC Hafnafjordur
why have 4 people liked this thread
I assume that it's by mistake.
When I read a thread on my mobile and go to press <<Back to Social, it often ends up trying to tweet or like the thread as those buttons load so slowly and pop up just as I press my screen.
pick a club at random, or one close at hand
non sports fans keep arguing it's arbitrary, but that's the point, they're your club, and they will betray you and hurt you and somehow you'll still go back for more for no good reason.
You could try supporting a well run one, but you may need to leave the country for that
There's this website where you can search for your local teams...
Think it's about four years out of date, mind.
