Big selection of beers too. Would have suggested mosque kitchen for insanely cheap and really tasty curry, but it would appear that yr a massive racist.
doesn't really matter what size racist you are. everyone likes a good curry. And they're probably Bangladeshi or Pakistani, so you should be fine.
If it's busy, Kebab Mahal across the square from the Mosque Kitchen has always been excellent when I've gone in. Admittedly havn't been since i moved to the other side of Edinburgh though.
Cafe Marlayne on Thistle Street. Cafe St Honore across the road from that. Both do Scottish/French fusion style food and both are excellent.
The sushi place on Candlemaker Row is really good.
If it's 'good old british grub' you're after, Monster Mash and it's kind of offshoot (one of the founders of Monster Mash got fucked off and started their own, pretty much identical, place 100 yards up the road from what I have been told) on Forrest Road is really good.
The Tail End near the top of Leith Walk is /the/ best chippie in Edinburgh. You can also have a sit-in fish tea if you are so inclined, and it's usually got a decent selection of fish beyond the standard haddock and cod.
Pomegranate across the road from the Playhouse is a moroccan restaurant that's also worth checking out.
holyrood 9a's quite good
