Guys I've got a really amazing plan that I just need you to help me tweak so it is perfect
So the outline is I'm going to buy a pie and some beans from Sainsbury's and some chips from the chip shop. Amazing.
Here's the problem: Do I cook the beans, then go out and buy the chips (meaning the beans will be a bit cold when I come home) or go out and buy the chips then cook the beans when I get back (meaning the chips will be a bit cold by the time the beans are done)?

microwabve beans
can't you leave the beans cooking whilst you go out to get chips?
unless he lives above a chip shop
and phones his order down before he leaves the flat, the beans will be incinerated if he does that.
I used to live above a chip shop. It was handy but made my bathroom smell.
He could put them in a casserole and stick them on a low heat in the oven.
Are you a Pulp song
cold beans are more acceptable than cold chips
do whatever lends itself to better chips
We talking baked beans here?
The beans aren't the problem – you just heat them really really hot so they're still warm when you get back from the chippy. It's making sure the pie is the right temperature that's the real issue.
the beans ARE the problem
why are you having BEANS with your pie and chips?!
and what's the temperature of the pie in this situation? it's not irrelevant!
*irrelevant !
Look, we all know eating beans with your pie and chips is a madman's move
but there's not much of the afternoon left and I don't know if we'll be able to show Smee the error of his ways in time

Why don't you just go and get it all from the chip shop?
like a pie and some mushy peas and chips?
this is tjhe real question here
meowington: asking the real questions
chip shop pies are really crap
You can always reheat the beans a bit.
Don't worry about the beans.
Also we're missing out a vital step
Where is pie in all of this?
Confused about the beans
The tomato sauce really isn't going to sit nicely with the gravy.
use the chips as a breakwater
put your oven on when you go out
come back, stick the chips on a plate in the oven to keep warm. Heat beans.
What sort of pie? This is v. important.
look guys:
a) the pie will be from sainsbury's luxury range of pies for 1, don't know the filling yet, but will be much better than a grey chicken pukka pie.
b) the pie will be cooking in the oven until it is dished out on a plate with beans and chips - not an issue temperature wise.
c) you can't leave beans cooking on the hob with no stirring, they'll just burn.
d) I don't own a microwave, not in an indie holier than thou kind of way, just don't own one. However, microwaved beans are massively inferior to hob cooked beans.
e) cold beans are shit! you're right cold chips are worse but cold beans!? nah.
Come on you pricks I seriously need some help here!
Get the beans really hot while stirring them
then turn the hob off and stick a lid on the pan. They'll stay warm without burning. Really though why the fuck are you not having peas and gravy with this
maybe you're right maybe I'll have peas
it avoids the problem - but it doesn't solve it, and I know there's a solution to this problem somewhere!
so you're leaving the pie in the oven while you go and get the chips?
Cook the beans and put them in a casserole dish our something and put them at the bottom of the oven to keep warm.
oooooh
^ bean enabler
beanabler
fix
I can't take the pressure any more
I'm going to get oven chips
Just cook the pie and then leave it in the switched off oven when you go to the chippy.
Don't mess about with beans, get chips and peas from the chippy. You're welcome.
mushy peas are horrible though.
no wai
only acceptable form of peas
I have to disagree with this as well
Put your pie on
Put beans in pan ready to be heated
Go to chip shop- ask them to double wrap the chips tightly.
When you return fomr chipshop, put over down low and put the wrapped chips in oven with pie to stay warm.
Cook beans
when beans are nearly ready, dish up pie and chips
spoon hot beans onto the side/ onto the pie. however you like them
Jesus, is it relaly that hard?
I like pie, chips and beans
WITH gravy
peas taste awful
Not really guys
I've got some left over lambsagne from yesterday.
EVERYBODY OUT
oh YOU
