Hey guys, we can vte for the African Footballer of the Year here
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/20257457
Interesting list, obvious club success for Toure, Drogba and Belhanda (though surely Belhanda's was the most suprising) but then you have Katongo, captain of African Nations winners Zambia (though I don't know enough to be able to say how influential he was). Tough Call

Is it wrong to vote for Belhanda based on the fact he's been great for me on Football Manager?
definitely Katongo.
Although Gervinho probably contributed as much to Zambia winning with that terrible, terrible penalty.
Public votes on this sort of stuff's always a bad idea.
I literally have no opinion on who should win it, though i'd be interested to hear what the Zambian lad acheived at club level.
Probably a built a few churches
Has to be Drogba, surely?
Single-handedly dragged a wilting side to the biggest club trophy in the world? I've an obvious bias here but I'd struggle to see how any of the other players get close to that.

Hmmm.
Some would say "Managed to not miss a free shot at goal from a few yards to undeservedly win the second biggest trophy in English football with a £1bn team", but each to their own.
In my opinion, he had one great moment and a few others, but that's all
Chelsea were poor, but tbh with the outlay on their team, it's hardly a david vs goliath achievement. Montpellier and Zambia were far more heroic, and I witnessed Belhanda tear teams apart several times.
Dunno about that.
He had four five incredibly important moments that had huge impacts on the games they happened in, essentially changing the direction those games, and in the end the tournament, went. Don't know what 'David vs Goliath' has to do with it- he doesn't have to have been in a team of nobodies for it to have been a huge achievement.
I just hope neither Toure or Drogba win, okay
I hate their two teams enough to wish bad luck on their (arguably) best players.
the Zambian lad should win it.
but i'd struggle to justify saying any of the others eclipsed Yaya Toure last season. You're talking of a player who is (or at least was for that year and the year before) on Keane or Vieira levels of amazing (and consistency), as the latter's said himself, in what most people (wrongly) claim is the best league in the world.
debating whether to post this for fear of sarcastic this^ing
but aren't you always going on bout toure's erratic form? untouchable one week, shit the next and all that.
that was just classic bants anti-bants bants, mate.
there's no doubting that he was Man City's most important player for two years, and according to lots of people, one of if not the best player in England during that time.
this is how i experience football threads
