did this happen because i mentioned goonies in that other thread?
my favourites were
legend of zelda
mario 3
tennage mutant ninja turtles
goonies 2
boy and his blob
marble madness
battletoads
wrestlemania challenge
bart vs space mutants
a couple of those games were absolutely awful. TMNT especially. but those were favourites at the time, not looking back
oh and double dragon and kung fu master
were both mint
Excitebike
Duck Hunt
Legend Of Zelda I and II
Super Mario Bros 1,2,3 (2 was the best despite general opinion)
Maniac Mansion
Micro Machines
Kung Fu
Castlevania I and II
wasn't II simon's quest?
micro machines was brilliant too
i prefer super mario bros 3
forgot another bonafide belter
paperboy!
Got to be Mario 3 really.
TMNT was awesome! I have fond memories of me and my mates having a 'go each' at trying to complete the electic seaweed level, where you have to diffuse the bombs. Very difficult.
Ivan 'Ironman' Stewart's Super Off Road and Mike Tyson's Punchout were pretty good games, too.
can't remember anything as specific about TMNT
but i do remember there being some rock hard levels!
Duck Hunt and Paperboy.
did you have this for duck hunt?

fuck the nes
MASTER SYSTEM FTW
i always pitied master system owners
with yr alex kidd shite
alex kidd was really good
but there's no way the master system had a better catalogue of games than the nes
Amiga 500
was far better
Blades of Steel!
Faxanadu!
Some submarine warfare game I can't remember the name of!
God I loved my NES.
fucking LOVED blades of steel too
Nintendo World Cup is amazing
Especially the pitch with stones that trip you and leave you unconscious. Or the ice pitch.
Otherwise:
- all the Super Marios
- Metroid
- Tetris
- Zelda (first one)
some others I can't remember.
Ours came with a 3 games on one disk of Super Mario / Tetris / Nintendo World Cup. Best thing ever.
It the Nintendo world cup the one where if you pressed A&B together you did an overhead kick power shot?
I loved that game!
BLUE SHADOW
played through yesterday, amazing game.
METROID
MIKE TYSON'S PUNCH OUT
been playing a NES emulator at work all week.
blades of steel...mentioned above.
also loved International Ice Hockey with the skinny, athletic, fat player options.
Contra
Mega Man 2
2 was far superior
but 1 was still a great game, even though the sandman was fuckign impossible.
what happened after that? 3 onwards were garbage.
The first two were both great.
Completed 3 but gave up after that and just let Dr. Wily get on with taking over the world with his robot masters.
used up all his good ideas, didn't he?
sponge man aint taking over shit
The Simpsons: Bart vs. the Space Mutants
Finding all the purple shit in Level 1 <3
that game was well hard
I remember when my parents got me Maniac Mansion on the NES
Probably the best Christmas present I ever got because I was just getting to the age where I could appreciate effort + thought + actual product = excellent christmas present, rather than just the actual present.
They paid £44.99 for it. Crazy times. Still got the receipt from when they bought the actual NES too - £103.99 from Dixons. Could have put a deposit on a three bed semi with that kinda dosh in those days.
What's the most you ever paid for a NES game?
yeah, still absolutely blows my mind when i think of those games costing
40/45 quid a pop.
game terrified me
the year i got my nintendo for christmas it was wrapped up in the huge box under the table and my dad told me it was a doghouse for the dog and i was well gutted i didn't get a nintendo
cruel man
