the average family income in the UK is £2,150 per month...
the average family expenditure per month in total is £1934.
of that, on average, £462 goes on booze, fags, restaurants and 'culture' each month, still leaving £216 per month to be saved/frittered away (around 32% of total takehome on non-essentials then).
not that bad a deal in the grand scheme of things, is it?

Could do with taking the median
CG is skewing these figures badly

Sky subscription and TV Weekly right?
someone's got the ONS 2011 statistics
the office for ONS?
it's kinda been in the news today, boss.
£1934 as an average sounds pretty low to me
and £216 to save a month for a family seems fairly pitiful.
not got anything else to add really, like you say not too bad really
balls
i meant 2150
2100 doesn't sound a great lot for a family (2 incomes, I am assuming) tbh
Considering I pull in just over half of that from doing 30 hours a week at Asda...
Maybe replenishing groceries is a more lucrative business than I thought...
it'd be interesting seeing the figures on how many people in the country
earn as much as or more than the national family average income
averages are pretty meaningless
thanks Dr Stats
