He looks so gormless.
Er, forté perhaps?
Great chef obviously, and you have to show an extraordinary amount of single-mindedness to get where he is, but ultimately he cooks dinners for rich people, it's not life and death.
I've no idea how people take that sort of shit.
I'd smash that pan round his fucking head.
Is this the new black pudding and scallops?
And I don't even have a fever to blame for it
How is it in this day and age, the biggest media darlings are a bunch of cooks?
A generation or so ago you'd have been a servant. So bake me a fucking meringue, you coriander cunt
The two looked so gormless and goofy looking. Compare them to the magnificently polished Marcus Wareing, they are not a patch on him.
Why did nobody tell him about that raging whitehead on his nose? POP IT
like when they wheel michel roux snr (?) out and he is all complimentary.
it was when that guy was going on about how being a top chef had cost him his family. ffs man, priorities.
Why can't they all be like that instead of such horrible fucking wankers?
Inspired by Masterchef I'm now cooking all my dinners in a plastic bag.
Liked the verdict tonight, high standard all round (Duck wellington...<3) . Still hoping Girl-power Kerry (Chef Spice?) bottles it soon though.
Also, are you saying Tom Kerridge is a bell end? GET A GRIP! The dude's a gent.
What I *did* like was seeing his Great British Menu entry styles showing through in his general dishes in his restaurant.
And only £30 for a three course set menu. Definitely going to try and go next year.
He's a beast on Great British Menu, absolutely untouchable. Glad he seems like a nice guy too.
A bit precious, but generally pretty encouraging.
He was judging this year I think. Gave such nice scores. He's probably too nice for that. You need a 'fear of god' type like Waring.
I can't stand that bloke from Wednesday, Clifford, he just comes across in a way you can't like at all. Waring at least seems harsh but fair, but Clifford has a sense of just being completely humourless somehow.
is that they get sent to these top restaurants and praised for cutting it for one night. But these restaurants are full of young chefs who do that EVERY night. Surely they are by default better chefs than all the actual contestants.
So it should be Professional Shit-but-has-improved-a-lot Chef.
I didn't like him on Great British Menu either, to be fair. Like I say, there's just something 'flat' about him.
seems a decent enough fella.
I think it's unlikely that any of these dishes are done by one chef normally so it's a definite test that a single chef probably doesn't have to do in the heat of the kitchen.
However, I guess there's possibly a touch of being good at everything being tested here: those young chefs might be amazing at putting that dish on the plate but they've had practice and they might completely collapse if you asked them to make their own dishes up.
hardly any cooking involved at all.
He got to walk it. I reckon the other four chefs watched that episode and were like, "Oh, WHAT? GET OUT!"
why would you go on Masterchef? It's always been about people who are pretty good but want a kick up to the big time (at least since the relaunch, fuck knows what it was about when Loyd Grossman was doing it). Like these people this series, they say they're already a "head chef", but we all know it means they run the kitchen at a cafe or some bogus gastropub.
He was lovely.
It's not a nice word, is it?
Foragers can bore the fuck off
I'd be chuffed for Oli or Anton to win tbh.
