First one for me. Really excited. Don't even like The National.
Hands up, who's in?
But hi all the same.
Thought I could get a press pass, until I discovered they're £80 and you don't get anywhere to stay (which basically means you have to sleep on someone's floor or pay to stay nearby)
sick of so-called music writers mooching off those who actually want to fund musicians
Paying to work, interesting concept right?
What has DiS done for music anyway? Definitely never said a nice thing and helped to any awareness for any of the acts on the bill, or the event itself. Certainly think £80 is cheap for a ticket to see those acts, but not if for a few extra quid you get somewhere to sleep.
I wish I was going to this. Don't think I'm gonna be able to look at my Twitter all weekend, am I?
If they play Alligator in full I will never, ever stop crying.
The combined running total of Alligator, Boxer and High Violet is 138:47.
That's only three or four songs that they'd have to cut.
It's not really fair to demand they play their whole back catalogue, really, and even though they usually miss out at least one of my favourite songs I'm usually too broken by the end to care.
I'd love to hear Murder Me Rachael, Available or Thirsty in person though. One can only hope.
£60 is what i'm offering, so see if you can sell it for more first and we're all golden
also would be up for kipping w/a friend or semifriend - cheers tho!
couldn't care /much/ less about The National, but it's such a strong line up. mainly of barbican-y stuff + atp regular stuff, but still, brilliant
so the atmosphere will probably be awesome for it (whether you like the band or not)
I'm finally managing it!!
We still have some space in our car from Manchester too, unless Nestor is taking it.
i'll be the one with the beard and tattoos
I'll be one of the few metalheads there I suspect. See vintage biker jacket, doom/death metal t-shirt, quiff and DMs(all black).
Difficult to match people to usernames sometimes.
I've already promised to bring the Carly Rae Jepsen.
ATP (Chilled Pretentious), ATP (Upbeat Pretentious), and ATP (WOOHOO).
I have my suspicions I know which will be the most played.
no pressure, like.
CBA to make my own :(
The playlists above are basically for post-partying chilling out, pre-drinking, and partying, respectively. I kinda feel like I should do one of bands actually playing instead of dancey electronic stuff? Dunno.
Mostly because there isn't anything like that playing over the weekend. Katy B - On A Mission, on loop?
I've got quite a bit of minimal stuff and a couple of good future garage mixes that are good for mornings.
I know it's a bit much to expect a folk artist to program some good dance DJs but it was a little annoying. So this time gonna try and be a bit more prepared. One playlist is quite generic bassy, the other's very Playhouse.
Stuart Braithwaite was dire at Mangum, but then again that could just have been a taste thing.
PUT ON SOME SPEED GARAGE
This is what I'd say to Natalie Shaw if she turned into a zombie(god-forbid).
i am leather-jacketing and DMing too. we so cool.
anyone want to let me sleep on their floor? I'll be 100% not a pain in the arse
happy to buy a load of alcohol for whatever chalet i end up in
Looking forward to "gettin da beers in" on Friday!!!
I think you used to work with my friend Aimee so we're basically already pals.
Haven't seen her in ages actually, sad times.
Especially excited about the prospect of a 3am Saturday morning fight/dance-off between the LME and MME.
Talking off that, what happens after the bands finish at ATP? I'm a n00b.
See you all at Hauschka, right?
Highlights? Mine were The National, Deerhoof, Boris, Dark x3, Playhouse singing Material Girl.
