beef stew
My slow cooker has been sitting there unloved for a few months
but at this time of the year it's coming into its element. stick everything in first thing in the morning, then come home to the lovely smell of slow-cooked stew :)
I'm not sure I could do this
as I would be too aware that it would be like the beginning of an episode of Casualty which starts with me turning on the slow cooker and then leaving the house.

cube the potato and fry it separately with some onions first, also grate cheese over and stick it under the grill.

boil, mash, add to corn beef, mix, fry onions, add mix, fry the lot
