if your name is on them, you're seen as profitting from them, and are held jointly liable

fao cat_race - yes, you probably do have a case, especially if they're on street signs / street furniture, as placing them there is a violation of, uhhhh, the Town & Country Planning Act 1990 and also some other piece of legislation. I can't remember the other one, it's been a few years since I used to write threatening letters to people. I also can't remember if its different if they're on private property or not. But either way you should complain to the council's streets department as it'll likely be them responsible.

yeah, it's mostly road signs, traffic lights and lampposts

especially at big road intersections. appreciate the information. i'm entirely NOT against bands promoting themselves but there's a right way and a wrong way.
