how do people explain when you dream about a very specific place, or thing, or event you've never heard of, then you wake up and check it out and it's real or true?

last night, i was dreaming in German. I don't know any German, but there was a pretty specific and memorable sentence i sort of woke up saying, then when i stuck it in Google translate it was an actual thing.

another time, quite recently, i was dreaming about some sort of Bourne-style operation in Latvia (i'd just been watching Hunted, so i think that's maybe where the actiony shit came from), but anyway, i found this hostage tied up in this old house, and got there just in time for him dying, and his last words were "Find Yuri Gurevich", so, being a man of my word, when i got up i checked him out and - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yuri_Gurevich !!!

whenever i've asked people this question they just put it down to subconciously taking in infomormation without realising or something, or stuff you've learned but forgotten, but that doesn't really explain it.
