like if you only wanted to work for a couple of weeks or something?
are there any?
best just signing up with as many as possible (Adecco, Randstad, Reed are probably the main three) and see what comes up.
i haven't done it for yeeeeeears so thought it might have changed a bit
all of them wanted to send me for longer contract stuff. also, if you do sign up with a lot don't let on that you have, they tend to get a bit pissy about it.
particularly in admin type roles. Tesco used to keep temps on for years (I knew someone who'd been temping there for 4 years).
there used to be LOADS of stuff like that about (going back 5-7 years here)
is there just less demand for that sort of thing now?
fewer jobs generally, and temps are really expensive. I used to open the post at my old job when I was a temp and for the £8.50 an hour I was getting Adecco were billing almost double that.
I found Redflag to be the most friendly recruitment agency I've ever worked for, not sure how good they are for temping though.
Manpower are alright, do quite a lot of different stuff. They have the Amex contract in Brighton as well which obviously provides loads of work (which isn't all call centre stuff).
