Apologies if there has already been a thread on this...
I've not seen much chat about it so far
Dobby moving in with Mark? Moving it to a Sunday night? I'm feeling cautious.
that it was on friday nights anyway, it seems liek a very long time since the last series, think its about 2 years, it has been comissioned for this series and another one too (according to wikipedia) but after that its uncertain, i can see them wrapping it up in these 2 series
Seemed like a natural place to end. The series after was fine but I dunno, it's lost its shine I think. This is coming from a former superfan as well.
but it's correct!
Come on now.
a pretty tired format now
The characters really devleoped and there's been all kinds of interesting twists with weddings, affairs etc....
Have to say the Xmas episode at the end of 2010 was quite a disappointment though
it was one of the best things they did in years
but I don't see how much longer it can go on for.
Jez seemed like the kind of guy Mark (...or anyone) would know at 30, but without any real change to his character, I doubt they'd be hanging around together, in the same flat at 40.
Hopefully they've got an idea of how they're going to end it, and how to get there, and the next couple of series can wrap it up nicely.
That scene by the post box, hiding behind the hedge, that inner monologue he delivers basically questioning where he's going in life and his subsequent breakdown to Mark, his desire to settle down with Elena.
It's all bubbling away and from what I've read, it'll be a major theme this series (whilst Mark begins to slide the other way maybe?).
with that in mind I'll say yes
the shine may have worn off the format but I don't think it's dipped in quality at all. really excited about a new series and I'm happy for them to keep it going for however long they want. that they took last year off suggests they've got their head in the game.
Don't see why the odd one off special in 10 years time wouldn't still be just as good. It's just observations about life and therefore it can run and run.
You've got Mark's kid going to school, political allegiances switching as they get older, Jeremy starting to realise he needs to sort his life out, a host of side characters to call on.
I've preferred these past two series to most of what was written in 3, 4 and 5.
it's shit now
Surprised how much better 7 holds up than 5 and 6.
could be the 3rd best
so yes i am excited about the new series!!
