To shave my beard or not to shave: That is the question!
I've been growing my beard for nearly 18 months now. it's about 8 inches/20cm down my chest & is pretty bushy now. I've been getting some negative comments from my boss, so put it out to an X Factor vote at work with an online poll! So I thought I'd launch it on DiS as well to get another perspective. I've kept it under control & it's not itchy or anything. So would you shave it off or keep it for another few months?

I this'd "don't shave" but what is your job?
Is it important not too have your beard too long like if you're a dentist or fireman. If it's not important for your job and you want to keep it, may as well go for the two year milestone at least.
I work in an office
So no real need to be clean shaven for health reasons etc but my boss does seem to want a standard of appearance which doesn't appear to include my length of beard.

I've decided to shave my beard off in the New Year
After much thought, I decided that I would shave my beard off when I go back to work after Xmas. I'm making my line manager believe it was his decision, but I had been thinking of getting it shaved for a while. Got some job interviews coming up, so will obey to the corporate look until then & will start growing it again when I get a new job. Will take a before & after photo for posterity!
Can we see a picture now please? And one of you clean shaven?

I shaved mine off yesterday
It wasn't big and bushy but it was about a month's growth. I look about 5 years younger now.
I have now been clean shaven for about 8 weeks!!!

(not an 8-incher) but a proper beard and enough to make people think they're entitled to make uninvited comments on my appearance at work.
