There's currently a 4 for £6 deal on ales at Tesco. What is the best one they're likely to have?
Thanks a lot.
and if so that
It's not gonna be ending anytime soon.
hobgoblin, black sheep, maybe a coupla theakstons, a few novelty ones with hilarious names, maybe a couple of local-ish ones (depending where you are), all the standards really. If you like stout and they've got March Of The Penguins (which mine does at the moment), get that.
They've (the one near me, at least) got a Simply IPA, a Simply Golden Ale, a Simply Dark Ale, and a Simply Stout. 3 for £3. I'm drinking the IPA right now, not a massive fan of IPAs in general but I thought I'd give 'em all a whirl, it's not amazing but it's not bad at all.
Like M&S do Southwold Ale (Adnams), Greenwich lager (Meantime) etc.
I haven't bought ale from Tesco in a while so must've forgotten or sutin.
it's brewed by Brewdog, so it's pretty flavoursome but without the patronising crap they stick on the Brewdog labels.
I can only imagine the guff they put on their labels. Doesn't bear thinking about.
Beer wasn't worth paying for, either.
but if they do those are real good.
I like the wychcraft 4packs they tend to carry, you get 4 good ales (Hobgoblin probably being the best by a margin but the others are good enough) for £5 usually. So keep an eye out for that.
You might be lucky to cross some innis & gunn (I dont go in tesco!) but thats not really ale
Twaites IPA... american stuff like Sierra Navada Pale Ale
but yeah Hobgoblin or Black Sheep both perfectly serviceable
I like my ales golden. The greene king one is lovely. Badgers are all good. The beauty of that deal is it makes you try new ones. If you're low on indie points this month they do the Elbow beer which is ok.
They do an amazing chocolate porter (not strictly an ale but it's delicious)
