last year it was a Narnia themed party/dinner type thing. I dont know what it is this year, but christmas work does can fuck off.
(at an additional cost mind). *rolls eyes*
Here's where I ask: Where do you think I'll get the best fake Christmas tree from?
they had a half price sale on the other day
looks pretty like a real one.
well the branches do, the trunk is a bit meh
The question is - What are you doing for your Christmas Party?!
Revolutions in Soho :/
the one on Leadenhall Street in the city.
Yeah. Not good.
In fairness we'll have the place booked out to ourselves so it won't be that different to any other private function in any other bar I wouldn't have thought. Still, as someone who tends to give boozy events a miss where possible I'm not exactly looking forward to it.
and concur. I left after I'd thrown as much booze as possible down my throat and then went home
I can lend you my membership card for cheap drinks
I have to organise my companies one. Can't be bothered to. Everyone is too hard to please.
most booze and all food paid for by "the man", it's usually not bad depending on who you end up sat next to
the food's good and tastes even better when it's free
Might just wear my Halloween costume to it though.
LIke the DUNDIES in the US office. It's black tie. I am wearing westwood and I think I'm having a hairpiece put in by Miguel, who is coming to my office to do me and Riina. I AM EXCITED because I have not dressed up for something like this in about a year.
And odd blend of lady clientele, I thought.
Did I tell you I'm off to an award ceremony next week? AN I.T. ONE. I am the only girl from my company (again) but there are about 15 of us going. I've bought a floor length plain black dress....with an Angeline Jolie split (which I plan to sew up)
I never get to properly dress up, this is the first black tie thing I've gone to. My dress cost £17.
Please do. You have spectacular legs. (Not meant to be as lesbian as this sounds)
The guys in work recoiled in horror when I said I was gonna do that all night.
Take lots of pics!
A fiver says you end up falling in the swimming pool.
that might've worked better on the music board.
before going home at 9:30pm.
i am fully prepared to make a twat of myself, as i'll only be a month into employment by then and i'm bound to over-drink and say something terrible. Yaaaaay.
away for my department one. the company one last year was at Fabric. not sure about this year *shrug*
It was actually alright last year but I think I'll skip it anyway
I will be gatecrashing this. Warn them now.
You have to have wristband and everything.
I know the organizer, I will try and get two :D
WHERE ARE ALL THE MODS?
If you were a mod this wouldn't happen.
(i'm sure their just busy having lives :( )
Half day of work, good food, get pissed for a bit, make excuses and get home when I feel like it. Perfick.
underneath Concorde or something. Looks pretty nice. I'm going because I'm not a dweeb
Roadhouse in covent garden. Anyone been? It looks hilarously bad. 'Roack Karaoke' will be happening apparently.
Luckily I have other plans.
It's surprisingly fun. The house band are alright.
Form reading about it, its dissapointingly nothing like the bar in the Swayze masterpeice 'roadhouse'
I just want a bar with cheap beer, loose women and regular mass brawls. Is that too much to ask for?
That's all I've got.
hundredsa of middle aged women and about 12 men who want to kill themselves? No thanks.
so we aren't having one :(
i'm told it's really posh
i bet the foods crap
I have too much going on in December so I can't afford presents.
Christmas party? We're having one at The Forum. There's live bands and DJs and stuff.
going to get pretttttttty fucked up.
sounds really nice actually
it's just our team though, so it's a good night
As long as a suicidal stalker from Facilities doesn't attack half the HR department and start a chain of events that leads to me shouting at my manager, table dancing to One Step Beyond and waking up at a bus stop not on an intuitive route from the party to my flat, it will be a marked improvement on last year.
Team one, probably pub lunch and aleing.
I took the week off last year to move house and didn't really miss it.
I usually DJ the main work one, but it's pretty horrible - loads of pissed up 30 year old women threatening to punch you all night if you don't play their favourite song IMMEDIATELY gets pretty grating, as does none of your team even saying hello to you meaning you spend 4 hours on your own.
I usually do a pub quiz for our work one, but might allow that after last time 2 of the teams actually stormed off and went home as it was *too hard* (it really wasn't - of the 3 remaining teams the lowest was 50% correct and that's because they got shitfaced and gave comedy answers for the last round)
this year email them.. create a playlist.. drink booze.
