Didn't keep up at all over the summer though, since the draft. Only realised Harden had left the Thunder yesterday and am now pretty gutted as he was my favourite player. And Dwight Howard AND Steve Nash are now in LA? What the fuck?
How do I watch these games? Am struggling to find decent streams on First Row, but would like to get back into it quickly. Excited to watch the Hornets this year.
What other stuff should I know? How've the Brooklyn Nets started? What rookies (other than Davis) should I be looking out for? Who's going to be the suprise team this year? Any other crazy trades I missed? Pretend I've been under a rock for 4 months.
The Nets are still the Nets, but they won their first home game of any professional sports in Brooklyn for 55 years after their debut with the Knicks (3-0) was postponed, and lost their second game to the Twolves (who look great this year)
Sucks for Brown though, feels a bit like Bryan Gunn and Norwich, why bother letting him set up for a new full season if you were just going to do that?
and they hired the man who recently fired for that specific shortcoming
perhaps it's a circumstantial thing, you never know the little nuances that go on. seems odd from the outside though. could also be a money thing, i'm thinking he took a severe pay cut compared to what they would have paid phil jackson.
like 10 mill a year and involvement in operations and not having to go on road games. Basically pay me a bunch to mail it in guys!
Dantoni was like 3-4 mill a year and is the most successful nash coach ever. He was the right choice imo. When dwight gets healthy their defense will be ok, not great but he will erase plenty of shortcomings. What they need is 3 point shooters, pronto. Maybe swing a trade for Anthony Morrow or someone like that. Nash has to have guys that spread the floor and they have no shooters to do that right now.
Doc asked for it a couple years back but was denied. Not EVERY road game but basically some back to backs off and some road games for family time etc. doc was denied of course. Nellie had that with the warriors a few years back, would just randomly not be there about once every 7 games or so. Very weird.
I think demands to be involved in the management decisions is the craziest tho. Buss ain't gonna ride for that! Phil u crazy for this one. Already shagging his daughter isn't enough??
even though they're impossible to watch because it's CHRISTMAS DAY. when i start having kids i'm making it a tradition to watch them, it's the only way i can imagine being able to enjoy them ever again.
this also marks the start of sunday afternoon games, WOO.
doesn't take a genius to see that they've gone from clusterfuck to hyper organized but to see all the plays broken down like that is cool. can't wait to see them play SA tomorrow.
looking forward to the griz/thunder game tonight, grizzlies have really been going in hard so far, thunder are regaining momentum
total playoff atmosphere, beyonce at the sideline, just great basketball. gerard wallace looks even better than he did in portland, he's so good. melo choked in OT though, dunno how else to describe it.
wonder if rondo was just on edge or humphries was winding him up. that was a really annoying foul though, it was like he couldn't be bothered jumping for a block so he just swiped lazily. no excuse to go apeshit on the dude but yeah.
clueless as to why wallace got ejected, must have missed something
he does understand that basketball isn't a movie, yeah? i understand that he wants stars and storylines but it's not an actual movie, they're not actors. he's fucking mental.
it was a really good game!
i reeeeeeeally hope the spurs win this year so stern's final presentation ceremony will be with them.
so many teams have stepped it up this season, the east and the west look way more open than last year. i've particularly been enjoying the bucks (think they might be my #2 team), atlanta (who have been INCREDIBLE to watch play most games i've seen), golden state, and yeah, the clippers. the way things are going, doesn't it really seem like it could be a knicks/clippers finals? that'd be so much fun. heat/okc/spurs all still leading but they've all been a little off this season, i def don't see this heat team getting anywhere in the playoffs. on the other hand, the knicks are playing at playoff intensity most games, so it's looking good for them.
oh and i wouldn't count the bulls out, their d this year has been phenomenal. and it looks like d rose might be back sooner rather than later.
meanwhile the cavs tank is as dull as ever. think we're going to make a legit run at demarcus cousins or kevin love, neither will work out but it's all i got to look forward to right now.
Looking forward to seeing the knickerbockers live.
Got to watch a bit of the Raps over Christmas while I was home. They've looked decent after a terrible start to the season. 7-3 in their last 10. Don't really hold out hope for the playoffs or anything but just nice to see them winning some games.
Think the big pizane could be headed elswhere come trade deadline. Wouldn't mind seeing Calderon go but want DeRozan to stay for the filthy dunks alone.
i was gonna bump earlier but it seems actually the deal didn't go through.
but the word is that there will be a seattle team for NEXT season, pretty fast. not sure if it'll be seattle kings or sonics? probably gotta be sonics, i think they still own the rights to the name.
but imagine how incredible OKC/sonics games would be.
they scored FIVE in the 2nd. atlanta were just throwing up brick after brick, comically bad. what the hell is up with them, they've had their ass handed to them by the cavs, the wiz and the pistons in the space of two weeks.
Crazy that they are doing this without Bogut though! He needs to return soon though cos they have an insane stretch coming up. We'll see what they are really made of. Starts Wed against the Heat (on ESPN).
Curry and Lee have been playing pretty much as well as they can and they are actually kinda playing defense. Barnes is really looked strong the last few weeks. He will be very good as he gains more confidence.
Hawks are fine, Teague and Horford are good. I just hate the idea that they are such a mediocre team but are like top 4 seed every year in the east. whatever.
I am way more intrigued by the Cavs. Love me some Irving. Too bad about Andy being out he was ballin out like mad.
i STILL think the lakers are going to make a push but it's getting late, still if they don't make the playoffs i think cavs miss a pretty good pick...conflicted.
word is cavs are saving that cap room for a certain somebody's UFA next year, haha. gotta make playoffs next year for that to be even remotely a possibility.
Knicks never trailed. Always good to catch a player of Melo's calibre in the flesh. Left the game thinking JR Smith's jump shot is pure silk and Will Bynum on Detroit can flat out ball.
Personal highlight....the viciferous booing of Ashley Cole when they showed him on the big screen. Though deep down I think he enjoys being a heel.
I've never really watched it, but saw the end of the Lakers v Raptors game and thought it looked pretty good. Are games going to be regularly shown on sky? as if they are I might just get into it.
i have no idea how often games are shown. i do know, though, that you can get international league pass which i hear is fantastic and much better than the one available to me. you get every game in HD, on TV and online, and because you're in the UK they won't blackout any games on the pass. it's about $180, i think for the season.
i don't work on commission, just saying. if you wanna ask anything about the game come back here, always love to have more people into it.
how do you sprain an ankle and come back in two games? unless it wasn't as bad as it seemed to be a few days ago. because last i heard it was "indefinite" which is always the dreaded word re injuries.
but his ankles are made of glass so they were prob overcautious. I hope he can stay healthy for a ling stretch but I get nervous every time he leaves his feet.
i know he's 32 but it's funny that he's benched + back on the market, when at this point he's the best player on the team.
lakers love taking our underwhelming players, and i did just read they've got their eye on daniel gibson for his 3 point range. i know gibson for gasol doesn't work but this isn't exactly a team with its head on straight right now.
who, despite being physically perfect, seems to have a borderline retarded basketball IQ. he's never going to be that powerful, intuitive player that lebron is, and it's like he's in a situation where everybody is just sat around waiting for him to suddenly take charge.
rockets up by 30 some points and a total of 140 in normal (!) time, one 3 away from most 3s scored in a game and GSW just fouled them relentlessly, crowd booing, double ejections w/ flagrant 2. ugly as fuck.
morris for getting in their ref's faces when they were trying to review and green because he sprinted at an uncontested 3 and practically ripped a rockets player's face off (can't remember who).
think it really came about because some young guys came off the bench for houston and one of them did a showy dunk which i don't think anybody on GS appreciated at that point.
not sure i would pick him over dwight though because even now with dwight underperforming he's still doing about as well as jj over-performing. but it's the all star game, it's not really supposed to be a competitive match up of the best talents.
i'm looking forward to that shaq/chuck game tho, should be fun
The secondary logos are really good too (the crescent moon and the fleur de lis ones). The same firm that did the Grizzlies stuff did these, I like both.
my seats were nosebleed, but centered so i had an okay view. but the jumbotron was just relentless gimmicky kids movie clips with clip art captions like SCREAM! and MAKE NOISE! and at every single timeout, even the 20s, some form of entertainment would run on the floor. either mascots fighting or talent contests where you shout to vote people off. most of the time i had no idea the game had even resumed because there were so many loud and bright distractions, it felt like a shitty family chuck e cheese style place with some basketball happening.
i guess it'd be better if i had closer seats.
but is it like that at all arenas or is the Q just crazy family orientated?
Not worth going to a game in the nosebleeds tbf. The best is the lower areas where you can really tell how massive these guys are and see it from a more realistic viewing angle (the angles the players see it at). The constant entertainment is ridiculous but thats how they keep kids interested. Some teams have good graphics/music but most have really generic stuff.
Having said that I got a group of bros going with me to Suns/Warriors next week and we are doing the all you can eat nosebleed seats just cos why not. We'll sneak down later since no one goes to Suns games any more and no one cares about the Warriors. Wearing my throwback Rick Barry jersey of course.
yeah, i could see the players and the general movement but it's the kind of sport where you need to see it in more detail. celtics got in a buzzer beater and i had to go home and watch it on youtube to see it properly.
after everybody left i walked down a couple of levels and it was dramatically better.
the best part of this is hearing the crowd deflate like a balloon
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ag7N80t1gmU
i'm still not really convinced the Clippers have fans
i like that you could hear the rasheed chants at the philly game last night
kinda seemed like a scalabrine role he was in at first but he's actually been doing alright.
yo shipment
next 2 cavs games are against GS and phoenix, PREPARE YOUR ANUS.
Pretty annoyed there is no TV deal this year, as last year was the first time I've started following.
Pretend I've been under a rock for 4 months.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cDMhlvbOFaM
really? first row is usually fine for me
that or coolsport.tv
The Nets are still the Nets, but they won their first home game of any professional sports in Brooklyn for 55 years after their debut with the Knicks (3-0) was postponed, and lost their second game to the Twolves (who look great this year)
i think there is an international league pass option
but it's very expensive
if we win this game with varejao and zeller out and omri-i'm-not-really-a-professional-basketball-player casspi in
it'll be a miracle
mike brown is out, they're not fucking around
d'antoni rumoured to be in. hmm.
hahaha
because that'll solve it.
Sucks for Brown though, feels a bit like Bryan Gunn and Norwich, why bother letting him set up for a new full season if you were just going to do that?
seems like they always intended on doing it
but they should have just done it last season
you know what would be hilarious, if they hired stan van gundy
that would be quite funny
and yet quite plausible
D'antoni confirmed as Lakers coach :'D
YCMIU: http://espn.go.com/los-angeles/nba/story/_/id/8622773/mike-dantoni-hired-next-coach-los-angeles-lakers
so they need somebody who can bring the players together to work as a team
and they hired the man who recently fired for that specific shortcoming
perhaps it's a circumstantial thing, you never know the little nuances that go on. seems odd from the outside though. could also be a money thing, i'm thinking he took a severe pay cut compared to what they would have paid phil jackson.
Phil was asking for the moon,
like 10 mill a year and involvement in operations and not having to go on road games.
Nash has to have guys that spread the floor and they have no shooters to do that right now.
he wouldn't go on road games
the fuck?
it seems inevitable that they'll figure out a groove sooner or later
Yeah they'll get it going.
Dantoni has no pressure now until like mid season. Get Nash and Dwight both healthy.
I asumed that no road games thing was just a daft rumour
no?
It's a pretty realistic rumor.
Guys, doc was denied.
Wanted to make myself totally clear smh.
woj really makes it sound like they made the right choice anyway
http://sports.yahoo.com/news/nba--lakers-resist-phil-jackson-s-power-grab-11051709.html
Ha, yeah, Hollinger
went in as well.
It still may not work, but I think it was right.
cheerleader just landed on her neck at the knicks/magic game
stretchered out, but waved, seems to be ok
:O
it was awful I took my eyes away for a couple minutes and suddenly there was a medical team in the middle of the floor
for a second I thought I was witnessing ANOTHER Fabrice Muamba moment
something so irritating about kris humphries getting easy points
this road trip needs to fucking end now
andy stat report 13/11/12
35pt/18rb
full blown beast mode up in here
i just feel bad that he has to play on the same team as luke walton
christmas day
lakers/knicks
thunder/heat
even though they're impossible to watch because it's CHRISTMAS DAY. when i start having kids i'm making it a tradition to watch them, it's the only way i can imagine being able to enjoy them ever again.
this also marks the start of sunday afternoon games, WOO.
STILL PERFECT
unlucky to magic though, they weren't any where near as bad as their record suggests, just fell away in the last quarter
good article on the knicks offense this season
http://hoopchalk.com/2012/11/13/mike-woodson-and-the-surprisingly-innovative-knicks-offense/
doesn't take a genius to see that they've gone from clusterfuck to hyper organized but to see all the plays broken down like that is cool. can't wait to see them play SA tomorrow.
looking forward to the griz/thunder game tonight, grizzlies have really been going in hard so far, thunder are regaining momentum
enjoyed that
great detail
this griz team is so fun to watch
you don't see many teams quite this good at getting under the skin of their opponents, i love it.
ah well
see them in the finals ;)
Love the Grizz.
Nuggets and Grizz have been my bandwagon teams for the last couple of years.
just want to point out the bobcats are 5-4
starting to wish we just kept sessions
Jeremy Pargo!
god what is happening? even casspi has turned into 0.5 3P shooter
i mean we're still losing relentlessly but we're playing great. still pretty mad about that heat loss the other day, fucking ray allen.
great game in brooklyn tonight
total playoff atmosphere, beyonce at the sideline, just great basketball. gerard wallace looks even better than he did in portland, he's so good. melo choked in OT though, dunno how else to describe it.
drama in boston
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WnFf5UahyJU
wonder if rondo was just on edge or humphries was winding him up. that was a really annoying foul though, it was like he couldn't be bothered jumping for a block so he just swiped lazily. no excuse to go apeshit on the dude but yeah.
clueless as to why wallace got ejected, must have missed something
there is some side-scrapping
that's barely a fight though :P
haha stern has really got his troll on as he draws his time to a close
talking about punishing pop for resting his top players. stern knows he does that it's not new, he's just winding people up at this point.
HE FINED THEM 250K
he does understand that basketball isn't a movie, yeah? i understand that he wants stars and storylines but it's not an actual movie, they're not actors. he's fucking mental.
it was a really good game!
i reeeeeeeally hope the spurs win this year so stern's final presentation ceremony will be with them.
that is absolutely fucked
MAKE WAY FOR THE NEW ORLEANS PELICANS NEXT SEASON
i, for one, welcome more ridiculous name changes
the cleveland capybaras
Ahahahahaha
Go Pelicans!
What team do you follow mate? 'Ehh.. The New Orleans Pelicans'.
If I was new to Basketball I would 100% follow the Pelicans.
Pelicans.
The Miami Flamingoes
i can't stop laughing at this
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lTeZ6elLcow
speaking of which
the heat are currently and have been a lot recently, pooping in their big boy pants.
the east looks very open this year, hope it stays that way
so basically to win at MSG you have to be playing at least 10% better than them
to accomodate for the referees
they probably deserved the win despite that but there was some real bullshit towards the end.
team of superheroes tho:
http://i.imgur.com/WHTM3.png
got pretty dead in here :(
so many teams have stepped it up this season, the east and the west look way more open than last year. i've particularly been enjoying the bucks (think they might be my #2 team), atlanta (who have been INCREDIBLE to watch play most games i've seen), golden state, and yeah, the clippers. the way things are going, doesn't it really seem like it could be a knicks/clippers finals? that'd be so much fun. heat/okc/spurs all still leading but they've all been a little off this season, i def don't see this heat team getting anywhere in the playoffs. on the other hand, the knicks are playing at playoff intensity most games, so it's looking good for them.

Any of the DiS crew heading to the Knicks v Pistons at the O2?
Looking forward to seeing the knickerbockers live.
Got to watch a bit of the Raps over Christmas while I was home. They've looked decent after a terrible start to the season. 7-3 in their last 10. Don't really hold out hope for the playoffs or anything but just nice to see them winning some games.
raps have some assets
i think bargnani, derozan and even calderon are all theoretically on the table and lots of teams are interested. it's not a bad position to be in.
Definitely.
Think the big pizane could be headed elswhere come trade deadline. Wouldn't mind seeing Calderon go but want DeRozan to stay for the filthy dunks alone.
oh man melo was so fucking mad last night
how can you be in the game this long and still let KG get at you? he was waiting for him by the celtics team bus, lol.
WHOAFT
http://hangtime.blogs.nba.com/2013/01/09/report-sacramento-kings-being-sold-to-seattle-based-group/
MAYBE
i was gonna bump earlier but it seems actually the deal didn't go through.
but the word is that there will be a seattle team for NEXT season, pretty fast. not sure if it'll be seattle kings or sonics? probably gotta be sonics, i think they still own the rights to the name.
but imagine how incredible OKC/sonics games would be.
arf
I'd have to seriously consider my allegiances (I guess one can have an East and West team)
Shame for Sacramento though if so, don't they still get great crowds?
no they're really struggling financially
obviously there are loyal fans but they've been in trouble for a while, definitely prime candidates for a move because otherwise they'll just bust.
amazing scenes in chicago tonight
bulls 97 hawks 58
they scored FIVE in the 2nd. atlanta were just throwing up brick after brick, comically bad. what the hell is up with them, they've had their ass handed to them by the cavs, the wiz and the pistons in the space of two weeks.
oh and all through the 4th the arena was SILENT
even bulls fans lost interest, until they got to 97 points and the crowd came alive because if they got to 100 everybody got a free big mac :')
they didn't make a 100 and the crowd starts booing.
it's gonna take something special to top this game this season
Their fans are ALWAYS silent.
Worst fans, worst franchise. So boring.
well! i don't mind 'em
you enjoying the GSW effort this season? i'm annoyed we didn't draft barnes, dude looks good.
Yeah they are very fun to watch.

I am way more intrigued by the Cavs. Love me some Irving. Too bad about Andy being out he was ballin out like mad.
the west is fun this year, 4 to 8 could be anybody's
i STILL think the lakers are going to make a push but it's getting late, still if they don't make the playoffs i think cavs miss a pretty good pick...conflicted.
word is cavs are saving that cap room for a certain somebody's UFA next year, haha. gotta make playoffs next year for that to be even remotely a possibility.
Yeah west is bananas. Anyones game really.
Lakers have to make a push like right away but I really doubt it will happen. I really hope they miss the playoffs, its all I want in life really.
curry out indefinitely on that ankle
bit of a blow...
Never really watched it but gonna try now it's on Sky
cool
i was actually gonna start a thread to see if anybody in the UK was going to watch that game
I'll try but really all I want to see is LeBron James dance and Jay-Z to come on and do a set.
that happens every NBA game
don't worry
that's what I thought, yay
melo <333333
also, has thierry henry's voice got deeper since he moved to the states?
reckon this'll be a fairly straightforward knicks win. pistons don't have enough experience on the court, and ny are due a win.
not sure why they're playing detroit
is it just so the hollywood team wins for the nba-abroad-showcase? just seems like it would have been better to do knicks/heat or whatever.
i probably won't even watch this game
its a regular season game I think
tbf i doubt that makes a difference to anyone in the crowd, or at home for that matter.
yeah it's regular season
just feels like they would have jammed the place with stars
nah its like NFL
no one wants to lose a home game so the smaller teams elect themselves for a paycheck
GOOD JOB ON THE MICS GUYS
jesus christ, you got one job, sound man. one job.
melo getting a round of applause for landing a 3
british people :')
Was gonna watch this...
but i'm bored already.
Bit too simple a sport for me, and obviously timeouts are a cop-out.
Thats what I say about soccer.
The first part anyway.
Surprised the Yanks haven't claimed they invented football (saaaaaaaaaker) yet...
and started awarding 9 points per goal.
I'd probably watch it then tbf.
you've combined 3 or 4 things there to irritate me
and in so few words, that was good work.
Off on a trip to New Orleans this weekend
so have bought tickets for New Orleans Hornets vs. Houston Rockets on Friday 25th.
Not having been to a basketball game at all, how do I avoid this happening? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6EbPsK6shaQ
Basketball's prety easy to follow I find
just remember it's meant to be a non-contact sport. Anything specific you wish to know?
Don't know really, do's and don'ts I suppose
I remember all the rules from NBA Jam back in the day. Mostly just excited to be going :)
make noise every time Houston have a free-throw
What kind of noise?
Sexual grunts?
sure thing
i am jealous, not just of the game, but i want to go to NO
i dunno how their fans act though. maybe shout I DO DECLARE! every time somebody is fouled?
I've been watching a lot of Treme in anticipation
It seems to me that the natural response to everything is to start playing a wind instrument.
pretty gutted I couldn't even WATCH the Knicks in London
let alone go, worrrrrk :(
Was at the O2 last night.
Though deep down I think he enjoys being a heel.
haha that's quite funny
REAL pleased to see Shrumpert (and his sweet fro) back out there, he looked like he had a monster game.
Shumperts Kid n' Play hair is even more impressive in Person.
Definitely had a good game and the Knicks always look better when he's on the floor.
atmosphere was flat last night,
maybe because they put the prices high. the nets v raptors games were more fun.
it was hard to gauge how empty/full the arena was from the TV coverage
completely full,
apart from the massive corporate bit all around the middle, which didn't look half full.
think it sold out in a day.
so good to see raps drop the lakers,
kobe's face was priceless, chucking a desperation 3 in the last minute and only hitting air :)
How long has NBA been on Sky?
I've never really watched it, but saw the end of the Lakers v Raptors game and thought it looked pretty good. Are games going to be regularly shown on sky? as if they are I might just get into it.
think they started this week with the london game
and are going to have a game every sunday. not sure though.
you should!
i have no idea how often games are shown. i do know, though, that you can get international league pass which i hear is fantastic and much better than the one available to me. you get every game in HD, on TV and online, and because you're in the UK they won't blackout any games on the pass. it's about $180, i think for the season.
i don't work on commission, just saying. if you wanna ask anything about the game come back here, always love to have more people into it.
andy had a pulmonary embolism :O
really hope he's okay. dude just can't catch a break.
Saw that :/
he was having a killer season too.
IN other news the Dubs beat the Clips again and looked good. Curry lit it up in the fourth.
did you see bazemore clowning griffin again for another airball
it's like it's a regular thing now
of course!
highlight of the game obv. Curry highlights were O__0
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IKol7rI-F-s
League pass is free through the 27th by the way! I know what Ill be doing for the next 6 days.
surprised to see curry already
how do you sprain an ankle and come back in two games? unless it wasn't as bad as it seemed to be a few days ago. because last i heard it was "indefinite" which is always the dreaded word re injuries.
It was a tweak in a game and something in a practice
but his ankles are made of glass so they were prob overcautious. I hope he can stay healthy for a ling stretch but I get nervous every time he leaves his feet.
i know that feel only too well
every time varejao goes for a rebound it's like somebody throwing a box of eggs into the air
I actually feel the pain shoot through my ankle in
anticipation being that Ive done the same ankle 6 times and had 2 surgeries because of it. Thoughts of ankle injuries haunt me daily tbf,
o lord
i broke my ankle once.
unfortunately not through anything as cool as a sports injury, somebody gave me the stone cold stunner.
Lakers lose again <3
This is so great.
FREE GASOL
i know he's 32 but it's funny that he's benched + back on the market, when at this point he's the best player on the team.
lakers love taking our underwhelming players, and i did just read they've got their eye on daniel gibson for his 3 point range. i know gibson for gasol doesn't work but this isn't exactly a team with its head on straight right now.
Yeah they just want shooters at this point.
Gasol can be good for like 6 more years! he doesnt use athleticism, he has old man game. He just needs to be somewhere else FAR AWAY from kobe.
and dwight
who, despite being physically perfect, seems to have a borderline retarded basketball IQ. he's never going to be that powerful, intuitive player that lebron is, and it's like he's in a situation where everybody is just sat around waiting for him to suddenly take charge.
jon leuer has gone to the grizz
in exchange for speights, ellington, selby and a protected first round pick.
that is a real trade that has happened today (to make space on their payroll). am i dreaming?
and then a confident win over the celtics
today is a good day
check those highlights, kyrie killed it.
And you've been stockpiling draft picks.
You guys are set for the future, on paper.
Kyrie tonight! Wish I woulda watched it.
hoarding so many picks
TLC could make a hoarders special about it
Who in the name of fuck is Jon Leuer?
haha!
ICE IN HIS VEINS
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=skejDSV4XH0
3 of 3, FINALLY THINGS ARE TURNING GOOD
this made my day
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sqd3jUPq3Lw
it's like he forgot he's a giant strong man, so childlike how can you not love it
awesome. Deeeep
rondo tore his ACL
bye bye celtics playoffs. unless they maybe try to cash in on pierce, can't see them getting anything that valuable though.
but um, i guess kyrie will probably start the all star game now. good for him.
rumour that celtics/clippers are in KG talks
don't think it'll happen but just take a minute and imagine matt barnes and KG on the same team. that is not a pleasant thought.
hilarious scenes in houston
rockets up by 30 some points and a total of 140 in normal (!) time, one 3 away from most 3s scored in a game and GSW just fouled them relentlessly, crowd booing, double ejections w/ flagrant 2. ugly as fuck.
Didnt get to watch this game.
kinda glad
Who got ejected?
draymond green and marcus morris
morris for getting in their ref's faces when they were trying to review and green because he sprinted at an uncontested 3 and practically ripped a rockets player's face off (can't remember who).
think it really came about because some young guys came off the bench for houston and one of them did a showy dunk which i don't think anybody on GS appreciated at that point.
haha
so weird. i gotta catch a video of this
Lakers getting torn up by the Celtics lolol
How on earth did Howard get picked for the all star game? JJ Hickson is better than him at the moment.
....or as I like to call Hickson
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5N8D6Ls9B-w
jj is having a good year
not sure i would pick him over dwight though because even now with dwight underperforming he's still doing about as well as jj over-performing. but it's the all star game, it's not really supposed to be a competitive match up of the best talents.
i'm looking forward to that shaq/chuck game tho, should be fun
going to my very first game in march!
cavs/celtics
YEAH!
good god what kind of euro olympic daytime uniform is this
http://www.mercurynews.com/warriors/ci_22565236/warriors-unveil-jersey-sleeves
get outta here with that
so bad
although i like the copy on the jersey better like that
I know this is well old news now
But how disappointing is the pelicans logo:
http://tinyurl.com/bvmfh9z
I had such high hopes. Name is still cracking me up though.
i don't hate it
don't love it either, i feel like making the pelican look more stupid would have enhanced the appeal
kind of like this fanciful bucks logo: http://sportchange.files.wordpress.com/2012/11/5318.gif?w=545
I really like it, actually.
The secondary logos are really good too (the crescent moon and the fleur de lis ones). The same firm that did the Grizzlies stuff did these, I like both.
yeah but it's not meant to be good!
it should be funny.
Like a cartoon version of these:
http://tinyurl.com/cglmb9w
http://tinyurl.com/bmr5d94
Pelicans.
i really hope the 76ers change their name to the Philadelphia Cheesesteaks
and have some kind of angry threatening cheese steak on their jerseys
it's not meant to be good?
pelicans are bad-ass birds! Fought their way back from near extinction.
Save the jokey crap for the 90s! Like these Raptors ones
http://cdn.ology.com/bundles/ologysocial/up/img/embedded/embedded_4f5aceb10e80a3.72323024.jpg which are admittedly kinda fun now.
i love those
but it's just the Atlanta Hawks logo...
oh man i wish the hawks would go back to the pacman logo era jerseys.
http://images.pictureshunt.com/pics/a/atlanta_hawks_logo-9743.gif
the one that dominique is wearing
http://www.nba.com/history/uniforms_hawks.html
lebron is just going absolutely apeshit
Mugsy <3
westbrook hit the rim on practically every half court shot
that was pretty impressive itself
gonna watch the dunk contest in the hope that it's better than last year's snoozer
All star weekend is such a waste.
Its all boring. I watch anyway of course, mainly to see what the bros are wearing.
Woooo! My man Lillard!
ROY etc etc.
kyrie absolutely killing this 3p round
Kyrie is so scary.
Also: since when did Justin Bieber front Fall Out Boy?
he lost so much weight!
the production on that was so bad, sounded horrible.
ellie goulding's performance was beyond horrific
i didn't realise you could sing that badly
today might be the only day that d rose is thankful for his ACL injury
i love bynum this season
just look at this joker: http://i.imgur.com/kWR7pJf.jpg
definitely makes me laugh to think how aggravating he must be to sixers fans
So I went to bed at half time assuming the Knicks fucked it
Cavs fans, what the fuck happened?
getting real fucking tired of NBA refs, they're a fucking joke
ball that clearly came off lbj's fingers given back to the heat at a crucial moment. just mad all around really, gave up a near 30 point lead.
i just want the playoffs to start this season is pissing me off
SALTY
it happens.
The warriors lost to the spurs tonight meaning thats 30 losses in a row to them at home :/
i know, and if you give up that a big of a lead it's your fault whatever happens
just got that post game fury
flop city baby

so disappointed with my trip to the Q last night :(
my seats were nosebleed, but centered so i had an okay view. but the jumbotron was just relentless gimmicky kids movie clips with clip art captions like SCREAM! and MAKE NOISE! and at every single timeout, even the 20s, some form of entertainment would run on the floor. either mascots fighting or talent contests where you shout to vote people off. most of the time i had no idea the game had even resumed because there were so many loud and bright distractions, it felt like a shitty family chuck e cheese style place with some basketball happening.
i guess it'd be better if i had closer seats.
but is it like that at all arenas or is the Q just crazy family orientated?
Thats more or less how most of them are.
Wearing my throwback Rick Barry jersey of course.
all you can eat!
cavs definitely don't have deals like that
yeah, i could see the players and the general movement but it's the kind of sport where you need to see it in more detail. celtics got in a buzzer beater and i had to go home and watch it on youtube to see it properly.
after everybody left i walked down a couple of levels and it was dramatically better.
lol, shaq's number retirement tonight
i genuinely feel bad for mike dan tony with all that WE WANT PHIL chanting
i guess the refs will make sure the lakers get that 8th spot
#conspiracies4lyfe
but i hope that doesn't happen regardless
utah or mavs, don't mind
Dwight Howard's *Block* on James Harden...
i'm looking forward to the playoffs but
the heat got this on lockdown i think
i'm rooting for SA of course being stern's last season
timmy deserves another ring too
LAKER LOL NIGHT
really hope jazz win right now, just to make 'em sweat
This should be fun. Really looking forward to the playoffs.
ESPN America pays for itself in April/May. Sleep will be at a premium over the next month and a half.
There's some good first round match ups. Harden back in OKC; the NYK v Boston; take the over with Den v GS, Mem v LAC and of course the Lakers v SA.
I love this game. 90's catch phrase revival.
