Welcome to the blockbuster of this Christmas season.
I hope it's a good adaptation.
film looks seriously pish
in a boat with a tiger then he finds some magic island?
and I reckon this looks like they've taken the right angle for the cinematic version. As long as they don't mess up the ending.
Only 8 reviews though, granted.
then it actually makes me want to see it. the idea of a boy in a boat with animals makes me feel sick
so why delete it?
And because everyone's going "OH SPOILER, FFS!" after it I thought it best to just do as Tillance asked and remove it.
I've had the book recommended to me, but the trailer I saw in the cinema made it look like total shite.
I'm sure Tillance can fill in the blanks for you.
you should get in now
I thought everyone knew, I was just seeking confirmation.
If any mods are about can they delete my pussy please?
Oh you are the absolute fucking queen of the forum today.
This is Tillance.
Or just stop posting from my phone. Out just stop posting.
anyone that has read the book found your post hilarious.
Was I mistaken?
It's just fun to see someone wade in with a proper tactless no holds barred story-ruining spoiler. Especially when it's accidental.
Toyed with the idea of trying to respond that you hadn't spoiled it. But fuck it. You really have.
I'm loving this thread too much.
It's also kind of missing the point of the story, isn't it? Oh well.
it's not really *spot on*, is it? Not really the place to discuss this though.
You can probably find out what you need on the Wikipedia page for the book.
the new <blank>?
ang lee is a bit crap really isn't he?
i can't remember anything about the book at all
i don't remember any of that
maybe i haven't read it
apart from the hobbit you mean
released one week early
I don't think it will come across well as a film. The book really is excellent - there is so much depth to it which I fear will be left out of the film making it pointless. From the trailer, it looks like they have turned it into a cheesy action movie and the effects look similar to those of The Lovely Bones.
I think if the film is disappointing, people wouldn't read the book which would be a shame.
Like a more magical "Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close...". The book is ok though.
