Can you walk from Waterloo to Southwark station without having to go outside?
I seem to recall having money deducted from my Oyster even though i didn't go on any trains. Starting to think it was just a wonderful dream.
I can't remember the exact details but if you use the entrance by the Shell building you have to touch in, touch out then touch in again to get to one of the lines.
A wonderful dream where you pay to walk somewhere under cover?
but you might get electrocuted, hit by a train and probably told off a bit
all i know is that that will get you over waterloo road whilst still in doors.
southwark is the tube station that serves waterloo east station best
waterloo is the tube station that serves waterloo station best
so kinda in a way, going to waterloo east on the walkway kinda gets you there DO U GETME
Going to give this a try later on. Cheers.
but the walkway to waterloo east will get you about half the distance, and it's not exactly far anyway
There is a walkway from the end of the platform down to Southwark tube.
And I have to say that the walkway is excellently designed...
If I ever meet the architect responsible I'll give him what for.
I did this in reverse yesterday, up form southwark to Waterloo east, walked along the first platform up onto the walkway across to proper Waterloo. Needed to go through several barriers so fine with a season ticket but guess that would cost on oyster ?
Unfortunately you obviously have to go outside to walk along the platform but it was a pleasant alternative to The Cut, albeit not any shorter.
