What a man
he was sublime yesterday
i reckon after the race yesterday he just went to the truck, nailed a bottle of vodka, put some Lordi on and told Lotus to fuck off.
Essentially it was him mumbling and saying 'Yeah, it's good for the guys to win this race back in the factory. For them it's a big deal I guess. For me, it's ok...'
Then Vettel said they were doing their best not to fuck it up.
First and last on-podium interview for the BBC me thinks.
No headphones in work :(
kimi: 'leave me alone'
lotus guy on radio (during safety car period): 'need you to keep all four tires warm, kimi'.
kimi: YES YES YES, I KNOW. YOU DON'T HAVE TO TELL ME EVERY FIVE MINUTES.
It wasn't though, was it?
Blatantly just trying to hype it up going into the last 2 races.
Reasons it wasn't THAT good:
- Vettel didn't drive amazingly to get his third, he had a lot of luck with safety cars and retirements
- The crashes that occurred were because the track is utter bobbins and only has one place on it where you can possibly overtake. And the fact it's so hard to but you have no other choice was why there were so many incidents there.
- Nothing interesting happening down in the middle third of the race
The best Abu Dhabi Grand Prix yet? Possibly. A great race? Dream on...
it was eventful, yeah, but not a classic.
An achievement on some level, but when you bring other festivals into the equation...
When I read about Vettel's climb up from the back I was convinced it was going to be the drive that confirms to me that he CAN be considered a truly great driver already rather than just a quick and brilliant, but spoilt and fortunate, one. How frustrating.
It was a perfectly decent Grand Prix, but nothing more than that.
it turned out to be spectacularly entertaining, imo.
