Now control has been pulled from Lucas' death grip who would be the best person to take over directing duties?
I've seen the others. I've been on Star Tours in both Florida and Paris. I read loads of the EU novels as a teenager. Somewhere I have an out of date copy of The Essential Chronology. VOTE 4 ME.
AND I've seen that!
AND the Holiday Special!
Jefferson Starship to fly in like the Falcon at the end of Ep IV to save the day
do you think it might finally get re-released now? "What's that, George? You never put it in your contract that we couldn't re-release it on 3D Blu-Ray. Take it up with the Mouse's lawyers."
Bet he wouldn't but I reckon he'd be awesome.
reckon he'd do a grand job
Duncan Jones would be a tasty choice too
would hopefully go easy on the CGI overload that pretty much ruined the prequels (along with many other things) and stick to more of a 'used universe' special effects with models and stuff. YEAH.
Or Spielberg. :)
He seems to be more interested in developing his own ideas than working on existing franchises. He was offered, and turned down, The Wolverine after Daren Aronofsky pulled out of directing it.
aka people who'd be good at directing most things
Nolan would be good though
it would suit his style of comic book macabre to do a Disney Star Wars
Is that an urban myth?
Lucas was interested because of Lynch's work on 'Dune' -- but he wasn't really interested in doing so.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EJQ4vCu-S0U He talks about it here.
as I've said a million times.
Of course it won't happen, but imagine a 18 certificate Star Wars that's really dystopian and grim.
Would be ace.
Owen and Luke Wilson as Han Solo and Chewbacca?
They can all just sit about, melancholy and downtrodden, talking about alcoholism.
No Luke, I just jerked off
I didn't like Attack the Block much, but I like him, and just imagine how he'd feel 15 years after doing 'Chew've been Framed' to directing Star Wars 7.
Then we can have each film of the new trilogy split into three parts. A new Star Wars film every year for a decade.
if nothing else
Had the opportunity to break news on DiS and fucked it, DAMMIT!
that's the price you pay for being busy I'm afraid
WHERE'S PAUL VERHOEVEN?
He's contracted to another new Star Trek film after this one, so how can he be doing Stars Wars AND Trek at the same time? MADNESS!! :P
Guillermo del toro should've got the gig
Abrams is a decent choice.
but his Star Wars couldn't possibly have felt like it was part of the series; his style is too unique. I'd much rather see him start his own franchise, he would've been great for the Halo movie; the covenant would've looked fantastic!
Some artwork stills appeared for that a while back, but I haven't seen anything about it since.
Let's start a campaign
