and she wonders why im pissing around on the internet. AND GREAT we get to look forward to ANOTHER leona lewis song. yeah cancers crap and all but im gonna shit my pants in a minute and just start bouncing on the sofa
i hate the world
Something of a pet hate.
and ive started buying the quilted toilet paper. TAKE THAT CANCER
*I am not fighting cancer, it's a battle between cancer and medical science, my body is the battleground*
Also, this idea of "courage" when fighting cancer... as if someone succumbing to cancer doesn't have "courage". You don't get that sort of terminology with other terminal diseases.
lives on my road - great family. My father in law died of cancer at 59, my sister in law has it at 33 and my mother in law has it. There's a time and place for cynicism and cancer isn't it.
But it's easy to be cynical about some of the things that are done in the name of cancer 'awareness'. Not necessarily this programme, I haven't seen it, but things like this http://lornagrl.blogs.com/.a/6a00d8341e31c353ef0133ed062356970b-800wi and that stupid 'where do you keep your bag' thing on Facebook.
any exposure is a good thing. no matter how base
but i really don't want to argue, i don't have the fight left in me. Just think FIGHTING CANCER is one of those tropes that middle class people can get all `inspirational` about in the x&y-era coldplay sense of the word. It's horrible, obviously, and someone very close to me died because of it, but it's just a thing that happens. Which is bleak, but so's life, man.
There are some things that do need more exposure - signs and symptoms of some cancers are less known than others - people need to know to go to the doctor if they have a cough for more than a couple of weeks, or that they should get haemorrhoids checked out. The problem is when people talk vaguely about 'awareness' without specifying awareness of what, or they go on about checking breasts and balls which pretty much everyone already knows about.
aka - the way you think. the quicker you get that chip off your shoulder, the better a human you will become. as a result...you'll probably be a lot happier, too. I promise this ain't a character assassination, btw. I see a young Silky in you, is all. you know.
fundamentally, you're a good guy. this cannot be questioned.
but the org/tagline was BREAST CANCER CRUSADE
wish we could just be sensible about cancer instead of having to make it sound like an underdog movie plot
compared to some easily preventable/treatable tropical diseases. Whatever money is raised in this programme could help 1000x more people with other diseases. It's understandable that there's a greater focus on things that affect you and those around you, but if you're being *really* charitable, you'll want to help as many people as possible, wherever they are.
and other fundraisers are for other things.
SAVE BOOBS NOT WOMEN
and people choose a one-off charity fundraiser for cancer. Haha.
It could have a little boner as the logo.
Stand up to cancer.
so probably yeah.
..cause he had his dick up the chicken's bum!
