That has to hurt... wonder if he lost his job?
That's why I described the video in my post.
it's not eh best activity to be doing is it
Can't watch the video, but assume it's less LOLworthy
Just how bizarre it was caused a laugh.
It's a video of a grown man 'sparking out' a mouthy girl. He should lose his job.
it's thoroughly unpleasant, and he's an idiot for doing it and deserves what's coming to him, but i find the 'she's a girl' defense a bit rich in this situation.
this whole idea that a girl can slap, throw drinks and hassle men because they are so weak and feeble and inferior is just awful. If you treat another person like that, don't be playing the gender card when they open a whole can o knuckle sandwich spread on your chin.
That said, the world would probably be a better place if noone was doing the hitting, eh readers ?
The best site in the world to go to if you fancy losing all faith in humanity and becoming really depressed.
I feel sick
Yes, the sound of that woman being hit in the jaw actually gave me that cold back of the throat feeling. But thanks for clearing it up for me.
to anyone who's ever been late for work because some gobby twat's been arguing the toss pointlessly with the driver, that man is a hero.
Did she look like she was going to be persuaded to do anything calmly?
Some people genuinely just need a slap, not necessarily an uppercut from a man twice her size, but a slap nonetheless.
but actually you've underplayed it a bit. unbelievable stuff.
Not nice viewing.
A punch connecting like that, completely out of the blue, and taking you off your feet would surely cause a outright knockout...
I knocked my chin on the side of the bath last night while playing peek-a-boo with my son, and that felt bad enough.
but everyone saw that she hit him first, yes? It's why everyone was shouting *ooo! you going to jail now!*
there's only so much even a reasonable person can take before you're getting a smack in the mouth, man or woman
[imo] if someone attacks you first you should be able to hit them until they don't pose a threat to you any more, regardless of your/their sex/gender.
then no I don't think he's done anything wrong, she was threatening him acting like a twat and hit him, she can't then complain about being hit back.
and her being a woman has nothing to do with it, would you still be on the passengers side if it was a guy instead of a girl?
and she did back right off.
I don't think what he did counts as self-defence.
I don't think he should have smacked her one, but if no one was going to stand up for him something had to be done.
if the bus driver is much bigger than the girl then retailiating by punching her is not using reasonable force & is therefore a crime.
just as her punching him is also an assault.
she assaulted him, then he hit her. he didn't just smack her out of nowhere, he was provoked.
reasonable force seems to assume that it was a calculated decision, that he had time to weigh up his options then decide exactly how hard he should hit her when obviously this isn't the case.
imo the driver is not at fault.
what you're saying would make sense if he believed he was in serious danger and struck out in a moment of terror. do you think that's what happened? self-defense and reasonable force are about the level of threat you are facing, not 'someone slapped me and now i am so overcome by rage as to be incapable of making a calculated decision and therefore not responsible for my actions'
because I would assume (or hope) that if he was acting rationally he probably wouldn't have punched the woman.
acting irrationally' in itself does not seem a reasonable basis for the conclusion of 'not at fault
i'm no expert, but i'm pretty sure the law isn't 'if you assault me i get to assault you back as hard as i want'
but that's not what happened here. The driver was provoked into hitting her, in my opinion.
if my little sister is being a dick and hits me, and i get angry and respond by punching her in the face with a force that could knock her out, i might have been provoked but that doesn't absolve me of blame for a viciously disproportionate reaction
you would be inclined to agree with me here.
if she is a child then it is not really a suitable analogy as this altercation appears to involve two adults
as is the girl in the vid, apparently
it would also be a better analogy if i was a well-built man capable of punching someone with any force
youtube comment lulz
What a moron. Should have just grabbed her and chucked her off the bus.
I wanna see it again.
calm down ann coulter
lock 'em both up. twenty years.
I can't have the sound on, what is all the chitchat beforehand? A minor disagreement about the fare structure etc?
he didn't have to hit her
he could have easily overpowered her and ejected her from the bus,, perhaps in a slightly less brutal fashion.
to be fair
he should probably have saved the finisher for a last result.
"You're under arrest"
"it doesn't matter"
was fucking amazing. When he runs off I was dying.
I can't believe he's done this.
all day, everyday. Constant abuse, harassment, insults, threats. People have limits. If someone threatened me like that in work, I'd act exactly the same as I would in the street. Also, her threateneing him to start off with and then saying he's going to jail is absolutely lolworthy
Often wish someone had the guts to step in, and though this is a bit extreme, if it makes her think twice about being such an entitled, self-important, anti-social prat out in public again, I'm not going to shed a tear over her having a bit of an achey jaw for a few days.
and I don't care what any of you say
and if it were a man would it ACTUALLY be any better? I mean asides from gender everything she was doing deserved a good smack, it wasn't unprovoked so I have no sympathy.
but the slight pause before he hits her is incredible. What a upppercut.
No way to behave. I'll stress that again incase wishpig comes in.
"What a upppercut"
or you'll get fucked up
but yeah it's horrid obvs.
and the mise-en-scene was amateur at best
it has to be said, that woman has one hell of a chin I can't imagine many people being punched like that and still continuing to fight back.
Whilst I don't think the bus driver was entirely in the wrong I do think the amount of force used was disproportionate to say the least.
from talking so much gobby shite
seems an almost sociopathic thing to do
she clearly provoked him, shut up
But it doesn't shock me at all that a bus driver would lose it and go bat shit mental. The amount of crap and abuse they seem to get on a daily basis just for doing their jobs is horrific.
'everyone's got a right to go to work and not get abused / threatened, etc' but once, when I was working on the new Kings Cross project, I was walking through St Pancras to get some lunch. I was wearing my protective clothing because I couldn't be bothered to change, and as I was walking past the cashpoint machine an irate lady ran up to me and said that the machine had taken her card. I tried explaining that I was nothing to do with the cashpoint machines but she wouldn't have it at all. I kept trying to explain that there was nothing that I could do to help and she lost it, shouting BUT YOU'RE A STATION OFFICIAL!!!!
Pretty funny really.
She really needs to learn to keep her guard up if she's gonna pick fights with Sagat
A few girls are picking on this older man, verbally abusing him and hitting him and everything. Acting the cunts. The man takes it for a while and then just gives in and punchs one of them.
The thing is there are occasions where women think that retaliation is something that will not happen because of the fact that they are women. Some seem to go to town on it.
Things like this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oX22kSD6rDY
You just have to take the hits really. What else can you do?
is the comments. Don't read them if you wish to prolong your faith in humanity (rule 1 of Youtube I guess but especially pronounced in situations like this)
that man looked like he knew how to land a punch on anybody, and he would have*. but it was an extreme reaction. dragging her off the bus by almost any means would have been reasonable given she hit him, but that was the reaction of somebody who has lost their sanity.
*but of course i don't know that for sure, so forget everything i just said.
It's viscerally more upsetting because it's a woman and gender construction stuff etc etc, but it's not as if that level of violence would be any more palatable or tolerable if it was mano a mano.
it's a completely different dynamic. if the passenger was a bloke then the bus driver would probably have been pretty scared in that situation, as it was the attack is clearly born more of frustration.
really doesn't work, chief. pick a position and stick to it. you're better than this.
appears to be entirely dedicated to shakeycam footage of black people chinning other black people.
I'm not going to look at this.
But I do sorta want to know what you're all on about...
It's in America. Why didn't you all just say.
Yeah, I can probably imagine...
The manchildren above sound like they're on the verge of applauding
it shouldn't be too long now..
I am not saying it is all fine and dandy that he hit her, I was just stating what happened as it appears on the camera.
probably in poor taste
and that it is excessive force given his size to hers and everything. BUT, I can't help but feel a bit happy about a gobby shite chav bitch learning a lesson for once. So used to people time and agin giving abuse in public and never getting punished for it, it feels like a victory. But yeah, probably should have just tried to throw her off first.
When you work with the public you have to be able to deal with them.
This guy was clearly huge and had the better of her, so chucking her off the bus would've been perfectly acceptable.
I'd be really worried about the mental stability of a man who would snap like that and dish out such a beating. Of course she's a gobshite, but I think he's probably more dangerous to SoCiEtY than she is. In the long run. Maybe.
it doesn't exactly look like a hit with intention to cause any real harm, more a bit of idiotic posturing. not that that makes it an okay thing to do, obviously, but it's a completely different thing than if he was actually being attacked by someone trying to injure him and was sent into a panic of self-defense
how can you determine the emotional response he had during the incident from that video. Maybe he was scared for his well being. You don't know.
By some considerable margin.
What happened to you, China?
feels like a cat_race parody of you or something.
i'm assuming you changed names cos you were getting too soft/honest by talking too much sense, too frequently, as forza.
Joke accounts aren’t just a case of anyone setting up a new email and funny new name. They’re all enveloping, physically, emotionally, metaphysically. I’ve had to lie down in a darkened room for 3 weeks following one post as Enderlin, I was that involved.
I’m probably akin to the Neil Young of joke accounts. Coming to the end of his career through death after a long, well respected career, with millions of adoring fans. But even the greats have their ‘Everybody’s Rockin’ moment, rogerjones42 was probably mine. But after a complete mental breakdown I dusted my self off and came back stronger than ever
I thought you were TheComedian or someone equally boring. What's happened, man?
with a major, and I mean MAJOR leaflet campaign
I think your sympathy is better directed at people who go through much worse things and actually haven't invited it onto themselves.
There's no point in trying to side with either the driver or the girl, so shut the fuck up about that. Both of them acted like absolute dregs of society. Yes, the girl was threatening the driver with horrendous violence and so on, but the driver was giving back, telling her he was going to get his daughter and his granddaughter along to 'whoop [her] ass'. The girl says that she'll 'beat her ass too', referring to the driver's female relatives. (An aside: I wonder how they'd feel about being selected to beat fuck out of a teenage girl from a bus.) The driver responds to this with 'Looks like someone's about to slice your face up'. This causes the other passengers to laugh (I mean, what the fuck?) and, since she isn't so into being publicly humiliated as she is publicly humiliating others, the girl lashes out, probably to show how much of a muhfuckin crazy-ass gangsta bitch she is and won't take a cussin' like that lightly. And then she jumps back, slapping her fists, clearly ready to throw the fuck down, saying 'let's go'. Of course, this ends up with her being absolutely ragdolled and centuries of black Americans weep to the dull thud of a fist connecting with a jaw.
I find it hard to be completely shocked by what happened, because I have this horrible feeling that this was just something that happened, to these people. Sadly, this sort of thing is probably an occurrence that happens once in a while, is briefly shocking, results in someone getting beaten to within an inch of their life, and is sort of forgotten about, with any reminder/consequences being an inconvenience to those involved. It's what happens in more deprived areas all over the world (trying not to come across all White Privilege here).
However, the most utterly repulsive thing about this is that the other passengers on the bus - presumably amongst them are her friends and peers - erupt into shrieks laughter jeers after The Uppercut. It's not until she flies back on the bus and they both start wrasslin' do people get involved, screaming "SHE'S A GIRL" and telling everyone to "chill out". And yet, only one man and one woman step in to separate the driver and the girl from each other - everyone else is more concerned with filming it or jeering. The girl picks up where she began, starting to threaten the man with more violence from people bigger than them both. She tells him someone is going to 'beat the black off of you'.
In my eyes, they should both be taken out the back and shot. Or at least hit with anti-social orders, as well as charged with disturbing the peace/acts of public violence, made to serve community service, pay some sort of fines, attend counselling (because they're both obviously fucking mental), and for the driver to lose his job.
At least it only ended with a thunderous uppercut and a bit of a wrestle. Imagine she hit him and he pulled a knife, or a gun? Or, if after he hit her, she pulled a knife or a gun? Or if one of the other passengers did? It could've been even more devastating. You don't just go around hitting people or threatening them. There are most likely some people in the world who deliberately threaten someone, and when they retaliate, they blow their fucking heads off.
Fucking psychos. Everyone involved.
it's what I'd aspire to post as a summary, but could. not. be. arsed. because of some of the utter utter belms in this thread who have gone down the "yeah but..." semi-defence of the driver, as if there's a 50-50 quota of "in-the-right-ness" and "in-the-wrong-ness" that needs to be apportioned between the two, as if the aggro woman being a fuckwit provides a sound basis for claiming that the driver's actions are in any way justified.
Some people only understand the fist to their face as a warning. It'd be great if the world was like care bears but its not.
escalating the level of violence in this situation didn't actually resolve the problem, and arguably exacerbated it.
I wasn't trying to distinguish between right and wrong in this situation, I was just suggesting why, if the aim is simply to warn someone violence might not be the right response.
was slang, just meant she was ugly.
the community service that they have to do a television show where they must live each other`s lives for a month. Then at the end they get married.
His behaviour is absolutely unacceptable. The RTA apologises to our customers for this incident. A full investigation continues.
Tried to cut and paste - failed! Anyway, there's a bit in the Guardian about it here:
did I read the comment section
Shame he didn't manage to kill her.
i dunno, i don't feel too sorry for her.
And that is that violent videogames are clearly to blame for all of this
DiS is wierd
