is this a trick question, btw? or maybe Exmouth, which is lovely
where do you like in somerset?
I'd go for Exmouth anyway...
nice fishing town. easily commutable. no sweat, really. honestly, round there there are millions of little nice villages with great pubs and incestuous families.
Exeter is far enough into Devon for Somerset to represent a cunt of a commute unless you opted for somewhere just off the M5...like Bridgwater which is an utter shithole or Taunton which has a lot less going for it than Exeter.
So, having carefully considered this matter i would plump for EXETER.
I make maps of Devon and Somerset for a living
you need quite a bit of money though. outskirts, maybe. dude, this is my specialist subject...
Falmouth, I'd wager.
Or Penryn (just a couple of miles away), or Truro.
Commuting to and from St.Ives would be a massive ball-ache, especially in Summer.
There are loads of villages around Falmouth also. It depends what you're looking for really...
but who works in a field so narrow that it's barely even a field. might as well call it an alley.
You tell us and we'll tell you where to live.
Because if not, probably Exeter. I doubt public transport is great between the rural towns and villages around there.
a lot of the villages around this way are nice but there's no way in hell I'd want to live in them
tho I guess it might be quite nice to live by the sea?
If you want a village there are some nice ones along the coast in both directions (including one called Cockwood).
I lived in Exeter at uni for 3 years for uni
or could be at their campus in Falmouth. our choice (if she gets the job)
Falmouth really is the arse end of the country- about an hour/hour and half from Exeter, which is dead out the way anyway.
I wouldn’t suggest living too near the uni, as it is literally a University Ghetto. It does all depend on your budget and what you want, but there are loads of lovely villages around.
Just wondering because there's fuck-all work in Falmouth generally.
Whilst St.Ives might sound tempting (and it is lovely), if she gets the Falmouth job it might be a bitch of a morning commute. It's doable in 45 minutes, but could take longer than that, especially June-September.
Truro is only 20 minutes away if you want a bit of *ahem* big city living!
Falmouth is probably best huh?
better with the growing student population.
I'll try to tie them into semi-amusing youtube vids and/or un-outrageous local news stories from now on
you're a good'un. Certainly my preferred Smee.
not the greatest compliment if I'm honest.
might finally go this year
Can I be of assistance?
live right in the centre of town. Longbrook Street or somewhere like that
I have even Exeter on a Saturday night
from my experience of 2 companies I've worked for with offices in Exeter, they've all got Offices in Reading, or at least will have when our office moves there in 3 weeks
but Castle Drogo would be a pretty snazzy hit
oh no, that's norwich
