Adults are not allowed to buy alcohol on behalf of under 18's in a licensed premises. In the new licensing laws, the only exception is for 16 or 17 year olds who are allowed to drink beer, wine or cider at a meal out with adults (but they may not buy the alcohol themselves).
i thought it was much younger than 16, can't remember what age they said was okay
yet when BALONZ buys a 12 year old sweets he gets the police knocking at his door?
I remember in two separate jobs in pubs/restaurants having a conversation with my boss about parents ordering their underage kids a drink, and neither of us could decide whether it was definitely OK to serve them. We did on both occasions though.
