Have you ever had them?
Im moved house into my own flat. Girl moves into house last week. Girl pays months rent and months deposit to me. Girl gets loads of bits and scratches. Girl finds loads of bed bugs. I go mental in my new place and throw out duvet, pillow, sheets and spend money getting everything new. Surveyor goes to girl's house. Say's bed bugs have been there a long time. I didn't even know and had been there for a while. I'm in new flat. New duvet, covers etc. But now I'm itching. I don't know. I don't know if they could be hiding in my luggage but I feel really dirty and bleh and I don't know if it's in my head.
I've just moved in on my own, girl has taken my old room. I'm worried I've taken bugs with me. I've not seen anything.
that the only way to get rid of them is to burn the house down. i don't know if it is true.
is it not true?
had them once in a house years back, took like 6 weeks to 2 months after they started spraying with them and it wasn't even a particularly bad infestation
they're easily seen though, turn your bed and drawers and stuff upside down. they also leave little black dots on everything.
JUST BEEN READING UP - THAT'S HUMAN BLOOD.
pay a pro, don't buy stuff from a hardware shop and try to do it, you will make it worse.
if you can convince your new landlord that they were there when you moved in (how much do they know at this stage?) then they might pay for it
They aren't like nits, they are like cockroaches or sutin.
Fucking SHITE website
if you haven't actually had any bites, it's entirely possible that you have had them for ages and not noticed because apparently some people just don't get any reaction to the bites - when i had them, there were three of us in the flat and i was the only one that was actually bothered by it. but obv the psychological thing of knowing they might be in your bed is THE ABSOLUTE WORST. i had them more than a year ago and am now in my second new flat since then, and every time i get an itchy spot i still get paranoid that i've managed to somehow carry them with me :(
prob the best thing if you're worried is to get some bug detector things - they're like sticky bits of card that you leave around the edges of the room, and keep checking them to see if anything has been caught. if there are bedbugs, they will show up on one of them after a week or two (and they're quite distinctive looking so you should be able to tell with some certainty), at which point probably panic
My friend had them recently. She thinks they were on the train and hitched a ride on her bag or something. Her apartment was fumigated twice and they seem to be gone. She also wrapped her mattress in some sort of bed bug resistant bag type thing.
If you think they may have gotten into your luggage or something, borrow a steamer from someone and use it on your luggage. Throw all of your sheets, clothes, etc. in a hot dryer.
I am severely allergic to bed bugs. I sincerely hope you don't have them!
Managed to kill the little fuckers before they properly infested though, you can buy bug bombs on eBay that'll do the job as long as they haven't started laying eggs
