I'll go for Tyrrell's. They're shit. I've just had a packet. I knew I should have bought Kettles instead.
THey're all sharp and brittle. Tyrrells and kettle can go fuck themselves. Give me a nice packet of space riders any day.
Come in delicious asbestos and polystyrene varieties.
I had transform-a-snacks for breakfast this morning.
They were horrid.
stuff like that can fuck off
Tesco Finest > Burts > Kettle > Tyrells.
you can get haggis crisps? nobody sent me this memo. I want them.
i've ate them all
M and S Parmesan, truffle and Asparagus crisps?
Simultaneously the best and worst thing I've ever eaten...
and once again I think crisps in general are just a bit shit if they aren't wotsits
I'd murder some wotsits right now but i'm going out for a posh dinner later and must not ruin my appetite
I'm only wee.
they make everyone grab another bag of wotsits, one bag is never enough!
sorry but it's just true in every case
Walkers Salt & Vinegar rule all.
any crisps >>>> Walkers, so it's not really saying much.
or sensations/baked/sunbites, which are a whole different kettle of fish.
only tried the Keralan king prawn flavour but they were fucking disgusting. Thankfully short lived.
royter loves posh crisps.
amazing how they can turn potatoes into crispy cardboard
I have never had my hunger satisfied by a packet of crisps, not even a whole big bag. They advertise these wondrous flavours but they all essentially taste like potato, deep fried in oil. Meh.
a good, fast stomach liner before a few pints. As a 36 year old I feel silly for typing the previous sentence.
A weird grainy residue on your fingers, like you get when you clear out the loft for ages.
That's all I've got.
Their Thai Sweet Chilli is ubiquitous and over-rated.
(Don't think I've ever described a brand of crisps as "ubiquitous" before).
with a Walkers Sensation
The chedder cheese one's are bloody awful. And salt and cracked pepper..........EH?
Give me a packet of McCoys any day of the week. Salt and malt vinegar.....either them or Ham and Cheese Brannigans, or Branston pickle Mini chedder cheeses.
But flame grilled steak are the best flavour.
then salt and vinegar
then the rib ones in a purple packet
thereby defeating the entire point of McCoys?
Gonna have to grab me some Henderson's-flavoured crisps. As well as a bottle of Henderson's, of course. Can't get it down here.
The mexican ones aren't 3 bad either.
not very packed lunch friendly
I had a pack of the salt and malt vinegar ones today, to go with my sandwiches.
in a peanut butter sandwich
marmite and peanut butter in the same sandwich :(
Posh crisps = generally rubbish. Would rather have a packet of Pickled Onion Monster Munch any day.
their ridges are almost unnecessarily deep
all crisps are shit, can't believe it took me so long to realise*
*Wotsits and Cheedar/Onion McCoys being the exception
But Salt and Vinegar kettle chips rule. Tyrells Salt and Vinegar are ok but you don't get the occasional stomach rottingly strong crisp like with Kettles. Not tried Butts, are they any good?
Any of you folks have a strong opinion on what colour the packet should be for different flavours? I think Walkers have it right there.
tyrells vegetable crisps are nice. don't like any others though.
Back when they had proper Around the World in 80 Days-style packaging. The spices and whatnot were just spot on. They also did hot ones, in a black bag, and cool ones, in blue. But the regular ones were just the best tortilla chips ever, they tasted so good. Shame they rebranded, changed all the recipes (thus ruining them), then disappeared.
Their little French garlic breads were ace too, as were their poppadums. Not strictly crisps per se, but these broadened my horizons and opened my palette to a world of crispy flavour.
