New series of Homeland
....and Friday Night Dinner
is there a benefit to it?
There's thought to be a benefit as September born children tend to do better in the first few years of school than summer born children. There's only a few months' difference in development, but when you're talking about 4 or 5 year olds, a few months is quite a lot.
becvause in scotland the cut-off date is enf of Feb, so the oldest in the class will be the person who's born on 1st March. URGH.
There's the age/development difference, plus the fact that children born in September to December usually have a longer spell in the reception class.
ghastly people. ghastly.
My sister is a headmistress and has two daughters with September birthdays, planned for maximum educational benefit.
If they're a bit early then, whoops, August babies.
My lad is an August baby and he's fine. Smarter than most of his classmates, some nearly a year older than him.
I'm a June baby and my brother's August and we did fine.
