Marsbar> bounty > snickers
I haven't had one in years. Used to love those.
I had one on one of the only sunny days this past summer.
I don't eat normal Mars Bars because they're incredibly dense and make me want to throw up, but I'll eat the ice cream ones all day.
Let me tell you the second doesn't go down as well as the first. Spent the rest of my Saturday night feeling quite sick and couldn't concentrate. Totally ruined my enjoyment of Jonathan Creek.
Mars Bar Ice Cream >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Mars Bar
but more in a shakeaway style. y'remember shakeaway? when you could get like, flying saucer milkshakes, or any chocolate bars or stuff like that
fruit salad sweet flavour ice cream
or irn-bru bar flavour. actually, can you get irn-bru sorbet or irn-bru ice-cream?
kinda wany irn-bru ice cream now
Milkshake shops are as popular as ever, they're everywhere
we just haven't crossed paths recently
Most of the Shakeaway chain closed down. They only have a few left.
they have a few
A year or so they closed the majority of their branches.
they only had like 2 stores in 2007
They overdid it, couldn't keep up, and went into administration a year or two ago. They cut down to a few branches for a while, but it looks like they're back.
ils n'avaient que comme deux magasins en 2007
I noticed in the summer it closed at 5pm, before the square filled up with people after work looking for milkshakes. That's some good business sense. :/
HOW TO MAKE IRN BRU ICE BREAM
1. Separate 3 yolks from the eggs and add to a large bowl.
2. Slice the vanilla pods lengthways, gently scrape out the
seeds and reserve, put the pods in a pan.
3. Add 500ml of double cream to the pan with the vanilla
pods. Bring to the boil then remove from the heat and stir in 50g
sugar until dissolved.
4. Pour the mixture into the bowl with...the egg yolks,
5. Pass the mixture through a sieve as you transfer it to a
large freezer-proof container.
6. Mix in the vanilla seeds.
7. Leave to cool for 20 minutes before putting it in the
freezer for 4 hours (stir occasionally). Alternatively, churn in an ice
cream maker until the required consistency.
8. Pour one 330ml can of Irn Bru into a pan and bring to the
boil. Simmer until it has reduced to around 100ml, this will take
about 20 minutes. Keep in the fridge until the irn bru is at a lukewarm temp.
9. When the ice cream mixture has almost set, remove it from the
ice cream maker, mix it up a bit and pour in the reduced
Irn Bru, stirring gently to create a marbled or ripple effect.
10. Put back in the freezer for at least an hour, or until ready to serve.
I didn't know it existed. I am off ito costcutter now and will report back with my haul.
Do you remember asking the nice man in the posh hotel for Mars ice cream? Right after Nick tried to break into the freezer? And probably during the disabled alarm going off? Yeah.
Mars > Snickers > Bounty
Bounty > Mars > Snickers
But ultimately wrong.
Like a 99 with a flake stuck in, or an actual 'thing'?
worst frozen confectionery spin off?
yes, we can agree it was the best
It wasn't absolutely loaded with sugar, but it was far from bitter. Slightly tart, perhaps, but that's refreshing.
It's fucking delicious and has popping candy on it.
Update- the costcutter has no mars or snickers. I am buying maltesers and bounty. I do not fancy smarties or dairy milk. All I need now is a brioche and I'm whole again.
I thought there was just ordinary and gold.
There also used to be a coffee one iirc.
It doesn't live up to the Creme Egg McFlurry though.
and he was a FREAK
You need to let it thaw a lttle bit but then it becomes the best chewy sweet ever
after a prompt walk to the co-op after seeing this thread
as amazing as I remember!
I still need a mars one. I'm going to have to venture further afield later.
après une marche rapide à la coopérative, après avoir vu ce thread
aussi incroyable que je me souviens!
Cue excitement, as everyone knows Double Deckers are the best chocolate bars.
They have the same set-up as Mars ice creams, but were just mediocre to eat. Lesson learned - great chocolate bar DOES NOT equal great chocolate ice cream bar.
